Re: 1983 Z28 Camaro H.O

You should sell your dual snorkel set up, they bring pretty good money.

Re: 1983 Z28 Camaro H.O

The first dual snorkel I gave to the former "head" of the F-Body group I belonged to before it disbanded at one of our local cruises. I did keep the hoses and the snorkels. I did manage to obtain a new old stock unit which eventually is going back into my car.

Do you have the shorty headers and are they collected into one pipe right away on the passenger side? If so then there's your heat problem and it will rob you of power at your top end as well. Mine dumped straight in to the pipe and was brutal for heat inside the car. I have headman shorty's on mine.

Yes sir, Hedman shorties and two pipes into one on the passenger side. I have replaced the y-pipe and went with a Flowmaster catalytic converter, just wanted to keep it factory looking.

Re: 1983 Z28 Camaro H.O

You can get a 1" taller air cleaner lid to fit your air cleaner base and also use a 1" taller filter.

87-91 Chevy/GMC trucks have them or an 87 Monte Carlo SS.
Or you can get new chrome ones on ebay.

Re: 1983 Z28 Camaro H.O

Would you happen to have the part # for the taller air filter?
