Man that's pretty country. Fun riding through those mountains I bet. I want to take mine to Gatlinberg Tn sometimes we go there in the summer
lol I've tamed down as I've been up here. Didn't really comprehend "handling" coming from Florida but fun to let the back end spin out around bends. Yea the scenery is beautiful. Love cruising through these mountain roads. I'm sure cruising through Tennessee and smokeys would be a dream.
Picking up another Firebird Saturday . It's a 89 with a 350 4 bbl TH350 trans 373 gears needs some work , but I have all parts to put it back to original condition. Good winter project. Picked it up for $900.00
Just picked up this one for $750 last week..
Best thing about the car was I bought it from Richard Brickhouse!!!!!
"Richard Brickhouse is a retired NASCAR driver. He is best known for winning the inaugural Talladega 500 in 1969"
So, when I got the car, it "ran when parked" it sat for 10yrs when the carb was removed to rebuild it and never got around to it.
Intake manifold was stuffed with paper towels and a cooler lid was on top of the motor to keep the elements out.
This weekend I checked the oil, and it looks like I just put it in the day before, nice clear, and full with no hint of moisture! Checked the radiator, and bright green, full and clear..
Threw in a battery and hit the key, engine turned over free, and it started shooting fuel out of the open fuel line.. I had planned on hooking up an electric pump and draining the tank, but the fuel actually didn't smell bad..
I had an old Edelbrock carb in the garage and threw it on, gave it a shot or two of starter fluid, and it fired right up and settled into a nice idle! Actually sounded decent!
Nice score! The previous owner makes it even better!

Nice find man. I'm trying to put mine back to fuel injection. The guy put a 4bbl on it and didn't change the distributer . Being a real pain in the a##

Mine started life with a carb, so it's a bit easier for me I guess.

So, little progress on the Yellow Formula on the UHaul trailer just above..
Got it running and driving good around the yard. Replaced all the exterior bulbs, lights all work now. Replaced the 3 plastic bushings in the LH headlight motors gearbox and got that working.
RH side headlamp has a broken brush in the motor, so I will probably just replace that whole assembly as one unit.
Also pressure washed it. Still needs paint, but definitely looks better.
Can't get fuel injection to work. Not getting any pulse to injectors while cranking. Only starts on starting fluid but still wont run. It did run with carb so going back to carb. and HEI dist. doing away with computer.

New member here. I bought this '91 GTA over the weekend. It's a 5.7L with black leather interior. I won't be able to drive it again until the spring, but the drive home was awesome.

More updates on my 89 firebird. Put an Edelbrock intake,Holley carb,HEI dist,Accel coil and a Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Of course some chrome LOL. No more computer! Put the interior back together and added different wheels and decals 350 engine 350 trans 373 rear gears
Wow, nice car mrpalafox! I'm partial to all shades of blue. Are those early PMD seats? And I like the 91-92 GFX. Very nice combo.
Thanks Is actually a 91 but i always like those pmds so i bought some from an 82 i only paid 100 usd and they way more confortable then the originals i just need to reupholster them
Thanks still got a little work to go I’m a little torn about putting the full decal kit back on the car!
Run the car without it, see if it grows on you as is first. If you want the decals you can throw them on.
I'm partial to the clean look it has now, but thats just personal preference.
