There's several ways, depending on how bad it is. If it's just a maintenance clean, I use a portable carpet cleaner like a bissel spot remover. Use fabric cleaner with hot water in the tank, as well as a spray carpet shampoo, brush it down really well. Can mix some thing like oxy clean or tide in to a paste and scrub in the bad spots it while your doing that. Use the spot remover to suck up the excess water and allow it to dry really well. Best to do it in the summer, especially in Texas since it'll dry fairly quickly. A steam cleaner also works really well, I use it on leather while I am using a cleaner to pull it out tough spots.
If the carpet is really bad, you can pull it and soak it in a kiddie pool with oxy clean or some sort of detergent and then scrub it with detergent like oxy clean, can also pressure wash it if it's out of the car. Depends on how much effort you want to put in it.
Try using "FOLEX" comes in a white bottle. AMAZING stuff for cleaning and spot removal. Made the carpet and door panels in my old 87 TA look like new.
GREAT product. http://www.folex.net/
Hi all,
I will be cleaning the carpet inside my Camaro. What’s the best product/ process that any of you could recommend?
Thanks in advance!
All of the suggestions are spot on, I've used Folex too great for pet smell BTW, also stubborn spots react well to cheap shaving cream, I know it sounds crazy. If the carpet is really bad, u get a new one as well
Thanks! The carpet is not that bad. I wasn’t sure if I should steam wash it or do it with a handheld device. Sounds like I need to do in th summer to allow for better drying??

Either way would be fine, hand held sucks a lot of the water and detergent back out. Steam cleaning drys pretty quick, so long as it gets some time to air out you'll be fine.
Steam cleaning is really good and they make small ones for vehicles if you’re really into detailing.. nothing wrong with a carpet cleaner like resolve, a bucket of water, a brush and a wet vac.. you don’t need too much water.. focus on the soiled areas.. let it sit a few minutes, scrub again and wet vac..
