Hello Guys
That's my 87 Trans Am from Italy
The car was a bit rusted so I decided to do a cheap restoration
These are the pics
Paid 3.5k for the labour
Paint seems not good but is better than before for sure Painted the floors with anti rust New Trailing arms with poly bushings and new end links done the whole floor tho emptied cat
wheel well cleaned ant put some anti rust new driver's side battery tray
bondo holes closed because of previous owner anti theft system bondo under there there's a lil damage in the quarter panel but here we are in Italy so no replacement new lips from metalfabrication
new used deluxe panels repaired inspection cover speed bleeders and new seals on the calipers it looks good! New pads and rotors plus brake lines want gta rims tho new boot from a jeep on the intermediate shaft new rag joint sagging column fixed energy trans mount
Spectra tank and delphi sending unit, delco pulsator and delco fuel pump plus strainer the best i can do with the spectra testing new remy alternator and 21 lbs injectors from an IROC looks good
great job. These cars are rare in Europe and either being locked away or being parted out (I was pleased to see a red Formula in Romania a few months ago!)
Thank you guys!
Here in europe there are many v6 cars around and some GTAs
Formulas are more rare here
10 years ago I found an 87 T5 black car (pretty rare)
Italian streets are garbage for those cars but climate is good so they do not rust like crap
That's my car compared to some italians ones from the 80s
Thank you guys!
Next step is front end rebuild and some HPs
Planned a LT4 hotcam swap and some head work for the extra lift
I've scored a full TPI setup from an 89 IROC converted to carb so I will port and gasket match it
I am planning on porting my 081 heads too in order to gain some cheap hp.
3.42s and I guess I will break mid 14s
Subframe connectors are a must
Do the European folks like these cars or consider them trash? Here they are not accepted by a lot of muscle car guys because they are not old enough or a real muscle car. Funny thing is a late 80's Bird or Camaro could hang well in the 1/4 mile with a lot of so called muscle cars form the 60's and absolutely kill them in the twistys. Great job keeping her alive!
