89 Camaro Convertible....

89 Camaro Convertible....
Hi all! I just picked up an 89 Camaro with 72k original miles (yes I actually believe it). The car is in pretty incredible shape, minus a high idle (I have to follow the thread to work on changing it) and a convertible top that has the seals missing...
but the top has one more problem thats driving me crazy (I don't have much experience with verts in general so bear with me)... The passenger side seems to be offset backwards by about an inch...to the point that the hinge to hold it on in the front doesn't 'grab'..I'm going to try to take it apart tomorrow, weather permitting, but I'd like some feedback on how to make things easier on me.

Re: 89 Camaro Convertible....
Congrats on the Vert!
Thirdgen verts are some of the nicest looking cars IMO.. the lines are amazing..
I’m sure you’ll figure out the Idle.. throttle position sensor or whatever it may be..
For the top latch.. 89 is different than mine so I don’t have experience with how those latch.. if mine wasn’t lining up I’d look at the header and take the trim off and see if anyone rigged anything back together that isn’t lining up right and try to get it right.. at least for 89s they make a lot of aftermarket Vert parts..
Congrats and good luck!

P.S. WHERE can I find all those aftermarket convertible parts? I can only seem to find the top, not any of the linkage parts if I need them.

Re: 89 Camaro Convertible....
Welp, the High idle's fixed thanks to the good folks here at thirdgen and their abundance of information. Now it's on to a front end alignment and door/trunk locks..anyone recommend a good vendor for those?

Re: 89 Camaro Convertible....
and now the alignment is fixed..just have to fix a bit of slop in the steering box and get the tires balanced (there's a bit of bouncing going on the freeway)
