Help Identifying Wheels
Any guesses about wheel brand and size?
All I have is this one photo to go on.
Anyone know who owns it?

Re: Help Identifying Wheels
I might have found it already. Googled 1984 Z28 Cragar and found this jacked up Z.

Write-up lists 17 inch Cragar SS and Yokohama.

Cragar SS doesn't appear to be any heavier than our stock N90 wheels. I read someplace N90 were around 30 lbs. Does that sound right?

Re: Help Identifying Wheels
I am. But only planning at this stage in advance of rebuilding/replacing tires, steering linkage, struts/shocks, strut mounts, bushings.
Don't know yet if stock-like replacements, or koni yellow, or polyurethane bushings, or a white letter sport 15 inch tire or comfy passenger blackwall.
I'd like to smooth the car out. Currently rough and high NVH. Tires would be a big part of the solution over the old cooper cobras.
Most likely will do rubber bushings, stock rubber strut mounts, and a comfy 15 inch passenger car tire.
My favorite aftermarket wheel for 82-84 is the Billet Specialties Street Lite in black. 2nd place is the Crager SS.

Re: Help Identifying Wheels
The Crager SS is mostly a chrome plated steel wheel and heavy. A 15in x 8in wheel is closer to 28 lbs.
That's why many go with a totally "Aluminum Alloy" "Torque Thrust" style wheel like that one instead made by "American Racing" etc.
You can get them at "Summit Racing" for around $118.00 a piece and free shipping.

I prefer to stagger that style wheel with 7in front and 8in in the rear.

Re: Help Identifying Wheels
I think when the car is done and i need to find something to burn money on I'll go with the Billet Specialties Street Lite in black. All or nothing. The stock wheel ain't so bad in the first place. Thanks.
