Help Identifying 2OTL Muffler
Any muffler connoisseurs out there, I need help figuring out what brand this is. It’s lacking logos/serial #/etc. It looks to me like an SLP, inlet is off center though, but from what I’ve read they had a couple different runs of this thing. Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Help Identifying 2OTL Muffler
It could be an early SLP. But I don't remember being able to see straight through mine.
Post the case dimensions and inlet and outlet sizes. I believe I still have my old SLP hanging around - more junk I am still holding onto and need to get rid of. I blew mine up and the case fractured on the outlet side. I made a new end cap, but when my FAA welder friend tried to TIG weld it, because of the carbon coating the inside of the SS, it would blow holes. SLP sent me a new muffler with a reinforced design.

I know what it is. I'm working on the pictures - will post later.
It's NOT an SLP.

Re: Help Identifying 2OTL Muffler
It's a Borla, or a copy of a Borla.
The SLP is similar, but its inlet and outlets are centered in each end.
The muffler you show, like the pics I posted here have the inlet and outlets offset some. This muffler came off my 1995 GMC K1500 Sierra 4WD truck 305 TBI. I doubt if this system is even available anymore. But I could see an exhaust shop fitting this muffler into a 3rd gen f-body. With the slight offsets, it might even fit better than centered ends.
BTW, looking into the inlet looks exactly like the pic you posted.
Also, mine has 2 1/4" outlets.
Mystery SOLVED.

Re: Help Identifying 2OTL Muffler
Thanks for that. Really appreciate it. It does look really similar to that borla. The person I got it from mentioned he bought it a very long time ago, so it would make sense to me that it’d be discontinued. I did notice last night looking through a few old threads here that it looks nearly identical to a banks muffler, down to the dimple - see pics below. I’m wondering how I’d be able to know exactly.

post #9 has an almost identical looking one. This one shows the dimple I’m referring to clearly.

I would bet both of those mufflers went down the same production line.

Re: Help Identifying 2OTL Muffler
Thanks Chris but I'm sure there are people with much more than I have!
SLPs early muffler was a steel offset inlet super turbo muffler with dual outlet and oval tips.
Then they switched to stainless with the offset inlet and outlet like you have. I have often thought SLP used a borla or banks until they switched to their own SS center inlet outlet.
There are several different variations of the totl muffler and it requires the correct over the axle pipe and tails to work properly with the offset or centered muffler to be used on a 3rdgen.
For reference, this is on #008 (1991) 92 Firehawk.
