I thought I would give my 3rd Gen NEO region an update on our new project. My uncle gave my son a 5.7L 350 Vortec engine. My uncle said it has a click in it somewhere, but not problem, since we are tearing it down and rebuilding. We plan on picking it up in April. This should keep us busy for a few yrs. Meanwhile, he can still drive the 305. After we put a new torque converter in this spring. I found out, that is what is making her stall.
Hi all, new here and new to 3rd gens, just inherited a 87' GTA from my step dad, he only had it a few months so its still pretty rough. Plan on starting on her in the next few weeks.

Whats up guys and gals! new to this thread but I have been on Third Gen for a while now. I wanted to bring to your attention a car club that I am a part of. its called the Southwest Ohio Camaro Club or SWOCC for short. We are a fairly new club on the scene but we are quite active. Please check us out on Facebook and when you ask to join please mention my name Ryan Barnes (no I don't get any kickbacks of any kind) the club is free so check us out. Obviously this for the Camaro guys on this page but I would still like to try and meet as many of you as possible. I'm from West Chester a suburb of Cincinnati but I frequent a couple of different haunts. You can usually find me at the Sharonville Cruise-In during the Week. Milford Cruise-In on Friday Nights and either Edgewater Raceway or Kil-Kare on the weekends. See you this summer!

Any issues with Firebirds here? I'm in Cincinnati myself and lived in WC for about 5 years.
We went to a nice Cruise In outside of Hartville last Thursday. Our 1st time there...I never knew about it. Maize Valley Cruise In about 5 miles east of Hartville on 619 West. Check it out if you can. Every Thursday during the summer.

Sucks I work 9-9 every thursday, would love to hit a cruise like that.
oh, first night out went a few flat 11's, 2 weeks ago went a few 10.8's and one 12.5 when I blew the tires and started getting squirrely off the light, I had to pedal it.

Damn sounds like your car runs really good. I'm heading to Quaker tonight to see how I do. Hoping for 11.0's or somewhere real close. Went 11.35 with the old intake and throttle body. The car definitely feels faster now with the fast 102/102 setup.
Athens, working on my 15 yr olds first car. 92 z28 350 90k miles needs some tlc but nothing time and money can't fix.
Can't get that grin off.
Reminds me of when I bought mine. Had to slam that seat forward and raise that back. I was so darn small. Now the seat is reclined and shoved all the way back. I'm still small but, we chillin' now.
All Smiles.
P.S. Roxie is having VATS issues that I will be tuning out hopefully within the next 2 weeks. See you guys around the bend.
It's been along time since I've posed in the Ohio thread. Much has changed. I finally swapped to a v8. A 385 sbc to be exact. For those who done know I have been racing a turbo v6 thirdgen for many many years. Best of 11.23@123mph. It was a fun set up and took years of redefining to dial her in. And the whole time it was always a street car.
But after my attempts at 10 second passes I litterly broke the crank and wiped out the forged engine in the process.
So this spring I jumped on a friend's 385 he was selling.
Since then it has been the most consistent drag car I've ever driven.
It's a solid 11.60 car and in my class the cut off is 11.50 so it's perfect right now. I have parts to make it a 10.90 car this fall winter along with a new strange s60 on its way. Still a street car but it's 90 percent on the track now. I trailor it there as well sometimes with my truck or rv if I want a.c.
best pass 11.62@114.8mph best 60 is a 1.57.
engine itself is quite mild. 385 11.1:1 comp.
comp cam xe268 cam... very very small cam
performer rpm intake
eagle rotating assembly
dart 200cc heads 64cc chamber.
Holley 750 dp carb with pro form body
comp ultra gold 1.6 rockers.
93 pump gas
shift at 5300 trap at 5400
th350 trans with a brake(dont use it though)
cheepo freakshow 3500 stall
10 bolt currently with some crappy 3.23 gears
Every thing out back is tubular and adjustable, Anti roll bar, tq arms exc. Lake wood all arround for suspension.
I have a xe284 cam and a 4800 ptc 8 inch at all waiting to be tossed in along with a the strange s60 which is on its way. 4.10 gears. Those should toss me into the low 11s high 10s. And if not I do currently have a full n20 system hooked up and ready to spray when I wana try it.
We are going to be having a 3rd gen gathering sunday Sept 24th from 1pm to 3pm. It will be held at Longwood Park in Macedonia, Ohio.
1566 E. Aurora Road; Macedonia, Ohio 44056
There will be no food provided. No awards. Just a chance for people to meet up and talk about their cars. Easy access to highways and restaurants for food.
I'm finally going to toss these puppies on this weekend or Monday. Lots of goodies I wana put on this winter but figured I can do a head swap in 2 or 3 hrs so might as well see how much better these competition ported heads that flow over 300cfm work at the track!!
I'm going to leave the performer rpm intake on till winter. The victor jr. Will be overkill with my current cam gears exc
I am also on here a couple times a month at least. I prefer forms over the facebook etc. this is one big gathering place for everything we need and want. too much poop on facebook to sort through and its never in order.
Thanks. Heading up to milan to race Sunday. Although its gonna be 95 degrees out I hope to win some rounds and get use to this new set up. Its alot different then last year set up running 11.60s at 115mph.
