Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Thanks guys. Up close, it's got some warts. Needs new armrests, headliner has fallen loose. Need an HVAC fan ****. Needs to go to a body shop painter to address the dull paint on the bumper & deck lid. Also the black trim around the rear deck glass has a few small spots where the paint is gone. It'll be 5 or 6 weeks before my next vacation when I can get the car registered & on the road. That's when it'll go to upholstery & paint. Meanwhile I will polish up all the ac lines under the hood. I will do the same with the intake runners. Keeping it stock ride height, unlike my birds, & going to upgrade some suspension components. Want to stiffen up the chassis. Since photobuket now charges for their services, I don't know how to post pics here, just links. I will keep you posted on the progress.

I'm hoping mine will be ready for paint in a year. I'm missing one body piece ( front driver ground effect) and have a couple of things to fix. the hi-beam doesn't work, third brake light, I have no dome light. not too much

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I use Imgur. Once you upload the pic either directly off your phone or from your computer it is very simple. On the the right side along the picture you want to share is a slew of sharing options that have the link all ready for you. If you copy the last link and paste it into the comment box on here, it is already formatted for the forum. Its a no brainer to use.
I will keep an eye out for the updates.

I use a mac as well. What I do is load the pictures off my phone. You can select however many you want at a time. Then use the laptop from there.
It looks good coming off the hauler!
And for today for the car I got the new driveshaft. Had to get a longer one made as I couldn't find anyone to stretch the old for me at a reasonable price. It was cheaper just to buy one. And I also ordered up some lower control arm relocation brackets as it was recommended by several other users. So yay for spending more money!

I don't have a clue on how to transfer phone images to a desktop. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out this Imgur stuff. Baby steps for me.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
You don't have to transfer anything. You upload them from your phone. Then log into your Imgur account from your desktop. Hover over your user name in the top right corner and select Images. There you click the image you want to share. On the right side of the picture is all the different link formats you can choose from. For posting in threads on here, copy the last link at the bottom called Linked BBC Code and it will display the photo in the thread, not a link.

When you email the pics, are you doing it from your phone to your computer? Because, I already have some pics I took with my digital Canon saved to my computer. I have never seem mountain images, though. When you post your pics, do they load as images or links?

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Oh, I tried to set up an Imgur account & it told me my username could only contain letters & numbers. I had a combination of both, no go. I switched the numbers to words & still no go, the same message. WTF? I don't have the patience for stuff that doesn't make sense. And, if we are posting pics of thunder sticks, I got a bunch of those, as well. Thanks for trying guys. I'm doing everybody's suggestions.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I stared into the abyss of the steering column trying to identify why I have an intermittent horn. It's all good though, learning new things..some new words too. Actually can some one tell me why I can get a voltage reading (12) from the horn power contact to the steering shaft but not a continuity reading? Thanks

last time I checked you didn't need an account to upload to imgur, just go to their site hit upload and when it uploads it gives u the bb code for the forums on the right. If that doesn't work there's another site I've used called imgbb that might work for u

Spent way to much time chasing this convertible top tanaeu release system. No schematic, no answer. I did find out that if I manually work the relay under the console with the car off it works. I can't figure out why?
I did send the shift **** and brake handle to be redone so that was a good thing!

I replaced the rear sway bar bushings and ends. What a pain for me.
I think I'm getting too old to laying on a concrete floor.
Test drive tomorrow.

Some complained that the 20 watt bulbs melted the housing &/or the lens cover.
I'm gonna buy 5 10 watt bulbs & replace 'em all.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I laughed about your absence of a dome light, as mine is the only thing holding the headliner up. I have the far right bulb out on my 3rd brake light. Researching it here, TDS said 10 watt 891s & 20watt, no # given, were each used in the coupes & verts, '85-'90.

exhaust leak. I can smell an exhaust leak. I haven't looked for it but I feel like a lot of these cars have them. is there a common spot the leak?

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Mine is a hard top, so it is also being held up all the way around the perimeter. Sort of like the big top in a circus. Support in the middle & out at the sides. Problem is, the roof right above the driver's seat, is a low spot. Very annoying. So an upholstery shop is 1st on my places to take the car when I get it registered.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Do you hear any clicking (exhaust leak ticking) when the car is cold and gets less when it warms up? Mine was an exhaust manifold bolt that had backed waaaay out on the no.7 cylinder. Tightened it up and was good to go. I have never seen a vehicle with so many bolts mysteriously backing out.

Started putting door panel back on after window motor replacement. All the studs are broken off upper trim piece, still debating on repair method. Cut bad CAT off car, waiting for new one. Few other odds and ends, only 1 week left till road trip, sure hope the rest of the parts come in.

My 2 birds above. Sorry about them not being 3rd gens, but I like the 4th gen birds better. They both still smell new inside as of 9/1/17.

1953 chevy 3100 known as the death rattle. it has suicide doors, small block motor. 2002 dodge neon. 2008 roadstar warrior 102ci motor , a custom (made by me) skull cover, and a few other tid bits, and my wifes car that I don't have a pic of. the softail I just sold but it was cool and deserved to be included.

Went for a test drive at 930 this morning, already 90 degrees. Everything working ok.
Actually tested the AC which cooled to about 45 degrees on low speed fan. Not sure if I can get it colder.

I know I know. I inherited the neon when my mother passed away in 07. It had about 40k on it then. it has 188k now. I know it doesn't have a wow factor but the neon is a tank. it just wont stop. I admit I'm attached to the car because it was my mothers too. I tried to sell it a couple of times but I wasn't ready to let it go. I run a tank of gas through one and then switch to the next and run a full tank through that one and so on. I ride the bike whenever I want in there. my partner in crime wouldn't be upset at all if the neon left the house, my brother hates it. he calls the neon a "throw away car" that was never meant to hit 100k miles. again its a tank. 188k with freezing a/c and super gas mileage. cant stop that thing!

Can't argue with that. Same reason I bought my aunt's '03 Camry.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
today as I was pulling into the gym my car died. I coasted into a parking space. when I went to start the car all the display went out. battery! it was at that moment that I remembered last winter that went out to start the car and the same thing happened. I had to get out and wiggle the battery cable. when I came out of the gym I did just that. I moved the battery cable around and it started right off as usual. I think the side mount on the pos cable is broken. I added that to my list. the next thing is going to be that stupid seat belt keeper. the screws backed out and now the seat belt is trying to cut my head off.
