Can someone measure a Vortech bracket?
On the Carb SBC setup that some of you have, I need to know how far out the cast bracket is that bolts the plate to the head. I know there is .360" spacers used behind it for serpentine vs vbelt, I just need to know how far out that bracket is. (not including the .360" spacers).
If someone could measure their bracket I'd appreciate it

Re: Can someone measure a Vortech bracket?
I called a few places, even vortech. Nobody would measure it.
I ended up just doing the math - measuring the balancer face to the pulley end, then head to balancer face. I came up with 4.75" from head to blower mounting plate. Hope it's right.
I swapped the 6" crank pulley for an 8", and upgrading the bracket to a double plate design. Should make stupid boost and hopefully not throw belts.

My bracket is drilled out, so it sits about 1 3/4" lower to clear the hood. I cant get a straight shot off the cylinder head, but off the china wall heres what i got. I got it as close to 90* off the bracket as i could. If you need another shot lmk - i snapped that on lunch and didnt have a ton of time to take the intake tubing off

Re: Can someone measure a Vortech bracket?
It just dawned on me that the cylinder heads on a SBC are not on the same plane. The driverside head is more forward than the passenger side, so your measurement wouldn't transfer over to mine since I'm bolting mine to the passenger head.
Sorry.
I guess if I knew the distance from the BACK of the blower plate to the water pump mating surface that would be the same, as it's a machined surface. Any chance you could get that and I could double check mine?
Thanks!

Unfortunately i cant get a straight shot on it. You cant see it in the picture, but the plat sticks about 1.5" farther inward that the water pump mounting surface. i would have to guess its very close to 4 1/4" from just eye balling it
