Unfortunately this iroc has been sitting at a towing yard for quite some time. My best buddy had one in early 90s, I'm gonna go see what the story is on it as I'd love for my bud to have another.
saw this at a local car meet. Owner was 17 years old and said it was his first car. 88 Formula, 350 swapped, TPI auto with a fresh repaint. He did most of the work himself prior to getting his license 3 months ago

I have to take my hat off to this young owner, and shake his hand - via the net, through you. lol - The car looks super clean!! And to see young people like 17 getting into these cars is really amazing. So many dismiss the 3rd gens, this young man obviously put some sweat into this car.
My son is 20 and just graduated Nursing School. He has plans to find a nice blue Iroc-Z. Might have something to do with his dads choice of cars over the years. Im just proud hes not into that Fast and Furious type of crap Lol.

Amen Brother, preach it. My 15 year old loves these cars. I got him a Z71 to get through high school......we will see what his love is then and go from there. I too am thankful hes not into civics with a huge ole f art cannon hanging under the bumper and a 3' tall wing from jc Whitney.
Take a look at this beauty! Spotted at the Steam and Threshermans show outside of Federalsburg, Maryland. I have not seen this car around, nor have I seen this particular color combination (blue with tan top, even though pics make it look teal). Z28 is the icing on the cake.
I joined this forum when I was 17 and just got my thirdgen, Ive learned so much from this forum that I'm amazed it's free to the public lol.
These cars are definitely liked by my generation, I know a good amount of people around my age who have them
Saw this at a car show. The owner is that young kid in the upper left of the shot. I too thought is was really cool young people still dig these cars. He said the car was a friend of his fathers and that him and his dad were going to fix it up together. This is his first car also. It was really neat to chat with him for a bit.
My brother texted this photo back in May. Forgot about this thread. Located in the area of Upland and Rancho Cucamonga off the 210. Anybody here on third gen?
My Buddy sent me this pic today. Car was about 20 mins from where I live. I have
seen probably a Dozen IROCs in the last couple years in my area so it's nice to see them around. He said it was pretty mint and custom interior.
And I spotted this one in town sitting there. Apparently he's had it for 7 years and hasn't touched it. It's in need of a restoration. Pretty sure It's a 5.7 with T-Bars. I tried buying to restore it but he wants too much for it.
The last two 3rd Gens I've seen on the road were driven by people much younger than me. 20's to early 30's I would guess.
There was an article a month or so ago about shifting interest and prices in the collector car market. As older collectors are dying/selling off, prices for cars in their era are declining. Interest in prewar and 50's/early 60's cars are being effected. Iconic, rare special condition cars are holding but the rest of the pack, not so much. Younger collector car interest is in the muscle car and 80's / 90's era sports cars. 3rd Gens, Mustangs, and Japanese sport cars getting the benefit. Low price and easier to modify being the biggest reasons.
Nice 1986 yellow Sport Coupe tearing down US-90, younger guy driving with a Georgia tag. Saw him pushing the car to the side of the road with his hazards on about a mile up the road. If I was driving I would've stopped and helped a fellow Third Genner! Wonder if he's on the site?
Man i wish i lived in a more populated area or where there was more 3rd gens out! Lots of 4th gens though thats for sure.
Sorry but I think your problem is not your town but the state.Too many liberals means you should be looking for buses not cars and before you think I make it political no I don't ...its a warning sign ,I know because I live in Europe where they are slowly working to ban cars older than 3 years or simply ban by overtaxing the new ones .Everything that is trying to be "more like Europe" is going to lose everything that has personality or history attached to it.
90-92 teal RS with silver flames painted on the front and custom rims made a u-turn at the intersection I was at haha. There was a black early Z28 that drove by the other day too. I'm digging all the third gen sightings lately
Wish I could grab pics of these cars but they're all going too fast

lol good point but in reality here in the states i think were a long way off from complete ban of internal combustion engine cars...
Side note; im from the central valley which is nothing like southern california, or the bay area. Its conservative as **** out here, the red cream filling of a blue state.
EDIT: also i dont care about political talk i love it lmao. Message me any thing you want to talk about im a fun combatant that can just discuss things for the sake of argument.
