91 G92 Z28

After I got screwed on buying a 88 Iroc with the 350 I ended up getting an amazing deal on a 91 G92 Z28. Still keeping the Iroc just am going to have to put a lot of work into it.

Re: 91 G92 Z28

This car has the N10 dual cats and is a 305 w/ 5 speed but unfortunately doesn't have the rear discs because I guess the factory ran out of discs?? So it just has rear drums. Overall I changed the drivers side power window motor had to install a new gauge cluster and I have to get a new headliner.

Welcome aboard G92-Z28!

That's a beauty...though I'm biased, having owned an Arctic White '91 Camaro myself. More pictures and details if you have 'em....

Re: 91 G92 Z28

Will have to find some more pics but the car is a 305 5 speed. It has the G92 option but is one of the cars that got left with rear drums instead of discs. Overall the car is in real nice shape.

Re: 91 G92 Z28

Also has the C6 corvette wheels 18x10.5 upfront with 19x12 in the back with 2" spacers all the way around. Think the tires are 305s in the back and 265s upfront? Can't remember off hand but only major things needed so far was a new driver side power window motor and regulator and ordered a new gauge cluster since the old one burnt out. Plan on adding some kind of stripe(hockey stripe??)to the car and a new headliner, visors, and sail panels are my next upgrade.

Re: 91 G92 Z28

Just paint the hood blisters black to match the headlight buckets - gives it an updated look that's easily reversed. You could have them wrapped if you want to make it even easier.

Very nice car! I am planning on going to see a vinyl wrap guy near me and I wanted to wrap the hood blisters and do a hockey stripe like this car has. Not surr yet though but I really like it.

It's interesting to see an n10 g92 car with drum brakes in the rear.

I believe there was a shortage of rear disc brakes when this car was being built, and as an alternative, they installed aluminum drum brakes.

Re: 91 G92 Z28

Yes from what Ik there was a shortage and the drums were used to replace the didcs. Here's some more pics from the original owner but car is still as nice and I will have to remember to take some new pics other than the first two I posted.

Re: 91 G92 Z28

very nice car! From what i have gathered, the shortage of disk rears was due to a larger order of B4C cars with them having the priority over G92. I have the same exact car except for mine is black interior. According to the production number thread there was roughly, only 733 91 lo3 g92 5 speeds made. Not sure how accurate that is though.

Originally a black car. I had a black 91Z28 that I painted a few months after owning it. I couldnt stand trying to keep the black looking nice.

That would be interesting if true. That would mean that Chevrolet prioritized very low margin fleet sales of higher margin retail sales.

Figures, Now I know why the 91 GTA I parted out few months ago had the Aluminum rear drum rear instead of disc, took me MONTHS to sell that thing
