Those pictures look like they were took in the 80's LoL what with his OTHER listings in the first picture. I think its more believable that he's been looking at Hagarty classic valuation tool which lists the value of a 1986 Trans am in Contours condition at $28,800 (plus or minus 10% on options) and the fact he probably know's very little about actual real world values of Third gen cars.

Its not the original engine either, or he swapped in one, or doesn't even know its really a 305. Sounds like another dreamer screaming for high $$$ on a car that's not accurately listed well.

This is one of those: "Honey. I'm trying to sell it, get off my back", deals.

Well, based on the cars in the background and the quality of the "pic of a pic", I'd say this picture is very misleading as it was taken when the car was new. Thirty years ago!!!

I completely agree with all the comments above.
No doubt that's pictures of old pictures The overall color Hue is a dead give away & there are weird shadows where there should not be. like on the right side of the rear bumper as it continues over the taillight. I'm no investigator, but that an easy call.
I do like the cut out paper over the license plate.
So maybe I'll cut him a little slack & guess that the car is in storage somewhere so he used the photo's. But still, might as well just used a 1986 dealer brochure for a photo.
On a side note, it always cracks me up when I see blurry or out of focus pictures on adds. Somebody had to be looking at them before posting. That drives me almost as nuts as misaligned Iroc Z decals

I think I will second the notion that this is a case of: "Honey, I AM trying to sell the car." (just not very hard. )
