Gas Spewing out of the Fuel Tank Ventilator Valve.
I recently installed a new fuel pump. The fuel pump is now running except theres one problem. All the gas spews out of the Ventilator Valve. All the lines are where they should be. Could it be a backed up fuel line. Please drop your thoughts. Thank you very much.

Did you drop the tank or just do a trap door? Absolutely sure the lines go where they should? Is gas even making it to the engine?

lines are absolutely where they should go. As for gas getting to the engine, i have no idea.

If you got the return line crossed with the vent line, which would be easy to do, then it could easily do that. Would be a bit more of a feat to mix up the feed and vent line. Did you put in a new sending unit or disconnect the lines down below?

Disconnected the lines below. Do you have a diagram showing the connections?

This is the best I could find (thanks Photobucket for taking down all the photos ). I believe they should all keep the same order after the bend, but be careful and double check.
EDIT: That's vent, charcoal canister, return, supply from left to right by the way. It's a bit hard to read if the image isn't full size.

It seems as if the lines would have to cross to get to those positions on my car.

The lines will preserve that order if you have a stock sending unit. They go towards the front of the car then take a right angle turn and go down the side of the tank. The line furthest towards the front of the car should be hooked up to the feed line, and the line furthest towards the back should be hooked up to the vent. Is that how your car is?

For reference here is what my car looks like where it hooks up to the body lines. The picture is taken looking out towards the drivers side of the car.

Good to hear you found it. Double check the charcoal canister and return aren't swapped as well; don't want to have fuel being shoved into the canister.

Do you actually have that problem or just asking hypothetically? I've never had it happen so I may have to defer to someone more knowledgeable on that one.
