TR6060 vs T-56

TR6060 vs T-56
Sorry if I missed it but I didn't see a sticky for this and my searches only seem to come up with a couple swaps. No actual comparisons.
What there pro/cons of doing a TR6060 vs a T-56? If you can get your hands on a full LS3/TR6060 setup for relatively cheap, is it worth the hassle to get it to fit in a 3rd gen or am I better off just swapping in a T-56 regardless?
I seem to find tons of sites showing all the pieces/mods needed to put a LSX/T-56 in our cars but not much on the TR6060.
Please don't roast me if this has been well thoroughly discussed somewhere else.

Re: TR6060 vs T-56
Couple things come to mind.
1) shifter
The TR6060 has a remote type shifter. They make shifters that bolt in place but the ones I've seen are expensive.
2) Driveshaft
No slip yoke on the TR6060. The tailshaft was designed for an Independant rear which is stationary compared to a solid rear. You can have a custom Driveshaft made. I inquired about one from the Driveshaft shop I think and it was $700
I'd like to do an LS3/TR6060 swap on my '88 Formula. Another thing is the '14 up SS Camaro doesn't have a power steering pump. Just something to think about. Maybe someone that has done the swap will chime in with some pro's and con's.

Re: TR6060 vs T-56
what factors are important to you?
Shifter location?
Ease of install?
Ultimate strength?
Gear ratios?
To me, I will go for the right ratios above all else.
Then I prefer the solid mounting of a tail housing mounted shifter,
The slip yoke / 31 spline setup is strong for the TR6060.
And so, the last TR6060 I built was a hybrid 5th gen Camaro unit built to fit where a GTO / 4th gen T56 fits.
However, set up the shifter, and order up a driveline and go stock TR6960 if that's your preference. There are lots of ways of building your ride, The T56 Magnum is a logical choice for a lot of builds, and it is TrR6060 guts anyway.

I'm not sure any one factor overrides but I gues my number one factor is getting reliable power. I want my car to be a mild mannered but fast cruiser....not a drag strip warrior. I know I'm going to have to spend some decent money to get what I want. I will be paying someone to do the install so ease of install is low on list. I was thinking I might end up nickle and diming myself by buying everything separately, so I was thinking of getting one of pallet setups from Hawks but I haven't seen much of the TR6060s on our cars.

So I just bought this ZL1. Going to pull the engine/tranny and part out the rest.
