Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Now running custom fully boost capable ecu.
Just bought some speakers to liven up the stereo.
Also have all the hardware to start "paint."
Time to buy masking materials and get the garage ready.

Just collected the last of the supplies to turn this thing Satin black and gold. Hopefull in the next couple weeks. Must be done before the wife goes back from summer break in August.
Edit: except the gold that still has to come from phoenixgraffix.

Also got the wideband wired up and connected to the f14 pin of the ecu.
Just need to drill and weld the bung and I'm in business. This car will gain a lot from a real tune. I can feel it just from adding 1 degree of timing across the board.

Didn't even know you started a build thread here. Power bulge hood looks great, interior is coming along nicely, believe me, I can definitely relate w/former owner mistakes and neglect, had plenty to correct myself. Looking forward to exterior paint...

Thanks, I added a signature now.
Interior still needs work but is definitely OKAY.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Those are 4th leather seats that came in the car. Waiting to reupholster the oem seats I got with the car.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Now I'm confused lol, but let me see if I got this right. Car came with two (or three) sets of seats, the originals which are leather and being redone, a set of 4th gen leather seats as seen in the first few pics in which the fronts were pulled but the rears were left in, and a set of velour fronts (which you possibly already owned, or came w/the car) in which were installed in the front, but only in the interim while you wait for the originals to be redone.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Pretty much.
Car came with 2 full sets.
Oem grey leather
And 4th gen black leather
Both trashed.
Brother donated his 4th gen cloth fronts to me and I trashed the front black leathers.
Oem grey leather will be reupholstered at some point back to new condition.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Welded in my wideband sensor bung. Need to double check the ECU setup and start to datalog it.
Edit: ECU reads wideband. Showing leaner than narrowband at idle. Not too happy about that gremlin prospect.
Tentative plan is to clean and start masking saturday for a sunday spray.

Love the satin look! What do you plan on doing with the hood?

Looks great. Was just watching an episode on Spike too where they painted a White fourth gen the same satin Black using a Rustoleum blend, came out really nice. If I had to guess you're now going to paint the rims gloss Black and polish the lips...

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Hood needs to be sand blasted and sealed before. Didn't have time for that needed to get the big part done. It'll eventually be the same.
No black rims until I go back to blue. They will be gold and polished to go with the gold emblems and tan top. The black was to bring together all the goldish colors. I didn't want blue Black and Tan. Black and gold/tan is best right now.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Installed year correct dashpad.
Refurbed gauges.
Polished lens, cleaned up, pulled airbag light, installed oil light.
Installed front speakers.
Also worked on the bezel and flattened some warping.
Installed new headlight switch and refurbished the panel.
Starting to like REALLY respectable in the dash area now.

Looks like there are a few of us on here. I've been slowly getting mine up to my standards since I got it earlier this year. I never knew how hard matching the variations of tan was, and that from what I've heard that '92 has its own specific color. Joy.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Wife's car was smashed by a 50' tree Christmas Eve so I've been driving the TA more lately.
I've gone back to the stock hood as I've collected all the supplies to prep and spray the formula hood.
Hoping to get a crack at it soon before it gets hot again.

Tested out the Prop valve spring mod. AWESOME!
Results in this thread:https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...e-upgrade.html
Also swapped O2 sensor to clear SES and associated issues.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Purchased T70. .68AR.
Looking for 400whp and fastest spool possible.
Hoping to front mount in a creative way and keep everything. Worst case I'll rear mount.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Wrote/wired/tested an LED boost gauge that responds to V(oltage) input and also a LCD AFR display responding to V in.
Need to work out a power supply then prototype a Board and install.
Eventually the afr will be on a segmented led display and the LCD display will be for mode selection and maybe some other planned features.
I'm pretty proud of myself considering this is my first time working with electronics.
I have way too many ideas...

Bought parts to start a vehicle install and aldl testing.
Also bought the 1" segmented led display. Should have that up and running for testing in car as one of the first things since I have everything needed for it.

It ain't pretty, but it should work.
I believe this will allow direct ALDL communication with the arduino.

Re: My 92 Trans Am Convertible Restomod Project
Purchased window regulators, time to switch back to power accessories as it was when new.
Have a broken window so it was time to do it.
Also bought a set of taillights for some "resto" work.
Sold the stereo out of it, going to go back to broken factory deck for now. Car has the broken window and a flat tire to go with it. The AC needs recharge so I'm not too needy on the driving front right now anyway being 100+ and humid. But should be happy by summer 3 (You might call it fall)
