I have seen a few more thirdgens in the last few weeks. Seems like I've seen a lot more lately than I had in the last couple of years. I saw a black Camaro twice on Moorpark road in Thousand Oaks last week. Also saw a red Camaro convertible at the intersection of Westlake Blvd and Thousand Oaks Blvd with a blonde lady driving it. Then I saw the car in the photo below on Pierce Arrow crossing Thousand Oaks Blvd last weekend. This one, I was actually able to get a photo.
This was for sale a few towns over from me and I looked at it and pondered buying it I just wasn't wild for the green on a sports car. Wifes cousin wound up with it. Seems like a nice GTA.
I think that's a fantastic looking car. I hope your wife's cousin joins TGO.
I ran across this 5.7 TPI Iroc in Hattiesburg over the wkend.
I stayed at a La Quinta hotel in Meridian MS a few weeks ago. I was stunned when I looked out the front window and say an old service station across the street with at least 5 third gens plus a bunch of fox bodies. I'm from the rusty north; these cars looked clean.
Saw this little 'bird at Goodwill. Had an 86-90 front bumper but appears to have older taillights?
And this 1991-92 V6 'bird at the Cars n coffee. Other than my friend Ernie Massey's 1982 Z-28 and my TPI Sierra, the third gen representation was very much lacking.
Spotted a 305 formula, it looked clean but had some damage on the right front bumper. No idea why it had a tie strap on the rear deck lid unless the lock mechanism is broken for the hatch.
First cruise in of the year in Denton, MD. I was surprised when I wasn't the only third gen in attendance. Met the owner of this '92 RS. Said he rescued it after someone hit a deer and parked it. Fresh paint, and pretty clean.
This one popped up a few miles from my house in rural eastern Maryland. Never seen it around before. California plates? Sticker is from 2014.
1987 GTA. Still has the original window sticker. 5.7 car with paddle mirrors. Certainly not a $6500 car, but a decent survivor. Busted front bumper and tail light, and a clearcoat starting to peel. Windows are so dark, could not see much inside. Aftermarket radio is about all I could make out. Unknown mileage.
10 minutes from my house. Has digital dash. I left a note if they wanted to sell but no word yet. I really want to rescue this poor car.
I agree. Car looks to be pretty straight maybe that rust is mainly surface and can be handled. Id be on it too if I saw it parked up. Id love to see you bring it back to life! Sad thing is lots of times these people almost get mad when you ask them about these cars and claim they are going to fix them "one day". I cant tell you how many ive seen sit right there and rot down.
That would prob be a crazy feeling to be a member on here for years and then come to find out another person took a pic of your car and find it on this thread! lol

It wasn't so long ago those ROH rims were extremely popular with the 3rd gen crowd. I dare say they still are. Probably quite a few members on this board still run them I would say.
My Buddy was cruising through an area and spotted this IROC in between 2 Houses. I am away working until the 20th and will be stopping by to see if it's for sale.
He says it looks Pretty decent and looks to have been sitting for a while.

My wife and me had lunch at a local restaurant. I was surprised to see this '86 IROC in the parking lot as I pulled in. Owners were an older couple, possible original owner?
When I was looking at the pic this morning, I noticed the derelict brick building in the background. That's the old Chevrolet dealer in Federalsburg, MD. From the days when every town had a Chevy dealer. I bought my second Camaro (used) from this dealer back in 1992. It closed/relocated a few years later. The fenced area that the front of my car is facing in the top picture, used to be their inventory area. The years have not been kind. Here's what it looked like on February 1 1992, the day I bought my '87:
This is parked near Big 3 Racing in Hinckley.
Also, when taking my younger son to his girlfriend's house in Independence, there is a blue '89 (?) RS forsale on her street.
There seems to be quite a few thirdgens in the western/southwestern suburbs of Cleveland. Funny how when you start looking for a certain type of car, they pop up everywhere.
