Lower shifter boot with TKO600 and Steeda Tri Ax Shifter
Hey Everyone,
I have a TKO600 in my 87 IROC and will be installing a Steeda Tri-Ax this weekend. My old lower boot is torn to all hell. Anyone have any experience with this? I am thinking of ordering the lower shifter boot from Hawks as a direct replacement but will I have fitment issues?

I'm using a stock boot, but I modified the trans tunnel to properly fit the trans so idk if it makes a difference. A lot depends on what crossmember your using and how far through the floor the shifter sits, as well as what exact trans setup your using.
I will add that I needed to raise the steeda shifter stick a bit to clear the console.

If the boot fits use it, it has a purpose. Keeps fumes and fire out of the cab in case of crisis, lol. Not to mention water and dirt

Update... the stock Tremec TKO600 shifter had a mini boot on it... just put that over the Steeda... I stuffed my old hoodie down around the shifter to keep noise and water out from the street. Then put on the original center console/upper boot. Finally my interior looks like a normal vehicle. I've had the upper booth/console removed for 2 years now since I had the TKO put in. The Steeda tri-ax fits perfectly and clears the console nicely, FYI.
