Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
When there are many other people who are willing to pay for a set, why aren't they getting produced anymore? Who made them?

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
I'm sorry for double posting, but does one of these fit the regular 89' gauge?
Does anyone have an idea how they look like?

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
I also contacted him, although he's a nice guy and very informative, he just bought a used set on ebay. But there ain't one anymore. Is there anybody else expirienced enough to make some sets? I think there are enough buyers. I'd pay a good price. If there is someone who wants to sell his, just let me know, I'll pay well...

If you know what size you need, you can Goggle " Gauge Bezel" ,there's a lot of companies that sell them.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
Hey, I know that pic, lol
So happy to have those rings around my gauges.
Our dear friend Luis Hernandez Jr. had his 84's dash measured for those trim rings and then had them milled by a local company in limited quantities.
That was BEFORE some d*ckhead caused him to leave these boards!
He sold the remaining sets on eBay and I don't know if he would disclose the measurements to the public.
Perhaps if you'd gather up a handful of people, designated a spokesman and asked him very nicely via his Google+ account, he may go and have some more sets produced.
Just don't let the douche who p*ssed him off do it!
Keep in mind though that there is a fitment issue with the later style bezel and the rings, as the bezel is curved, whereas the rings are flat.
Some guys secured them with thick rubber bands around the rings, I tried several glues and adhesive tapes, heated the bezel to flatten a bit and used pressure to keep the rings in place until the glue/adhesive dried.
After a while they always pop out at the top and/or bottom.
So... that's where they came from and why you can't find them anywhere.
Just wanted to let you guys know.

I've got my lathe up and running now, so I'd just like to find out what dimensions people think look the best. I found somebody who said the inside of the rings measures 3 15/16".

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
I've measured my gauge opening at about 4.155", with a depth to the clear lens of about 0.52". Anybody else want to check some measurements on their car to see if there is some variance?

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
I'm thinking an outside width of 4.5", giving just over 1/4" ring around the gauge. Just not sure how proud of the surface I should make them. Right now I'm thinking of having them stand 1/4" proud.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
I'm thinking of cutting a sample tomorrow, so let me hear what you guys think is most aesthetically pleasing. I can use the tools, but I don't have what is called "an artist's eye".
I have some solid stock on hand to cut a trial ring, but I'll be getting some aluminum tube or schedule 80 pipe to cut the rest of the rings as it will save some money. 5.5" solid stock is pricey.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
Just curious, are you planning on polishing them or leaving them with a bare aluminum look? For reference, here are the ones on my GTA.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
Family time got in the way today and I have some work to do in the house tomorrow, but hopefully I'll get at least 1 ring cut. I was hoping to hear some size opinions from other members, but I guess I'll just go with the measurements I have taken.

Picked up the material and a new bandsaw blade. Might not get to it now, have to pick the kids up from school, dinner and then soccer.
Anybody out there measure their dash?

I have a crappy HF digital caliper. Not sure if it'd be accurate enough to be helpful?

Those look pretty good. I'd go for the brushed myself.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
Press fit. For a long term solution, I'd probably use a dab or two of silicon, would still peal off if you decided to remove them and go back to stock. I haven't decided yet.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
Yes, rgauder, you do.
Now take orders and start producing them at a fair price. I would want a set in Sch.40 though.
Thanks! You been nominated!!!! Super! How much? JK!

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
My supplier doesn't have Sch. 40, but if you give me the measurements you want, I can do it. Nobody wants to give me any measurements. Now that I'm in the club can I have the measurements? I could probably do $125.

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
You have them 4.5x.500x? thickness. You would have to turn down the ID of the 0.250 wall to about 0.125 FIRST before cutting tube to length.
Lemme go down and talk to my machinist. Maybe he can spin one out for reference.
Your pricing is reasonable also

Re: Silver Bezel Gauge Rings
Inside measurement is 4.155". I think it's the outside diameter you want turned down. I'm at 4.5" and could turn it down further.
