Thank you. Would have been nice to see a factory car like this.
Not sure why my post has repeated a couple of times. I can't find a way of deleting the extra copies so would a kind moderator tidy it up please? Many thanks.

"I was watching a DVD from a Old TV show called Simon & Simon, which is from the early '80's, In the show the Private detectives drive a '82 Z28 that at first looks like a t-top car that the center bar was removed, when they have the top on it looks like a soft top, the car also has a band that runs behind the side window and over the roof, there is a logo on the band, but they don't get close enough that you can read it, does anyone know who did the conversion on these? the show takes place in San Diego, so maybe it was a southern California company?"

Not a factory option. But targa tops were a dealer or customer option like the autoform and straumann convertibles.
Special conversion companies did them in California and Florida
IR, Years ago I sold parts to a guy with a 83 trans am targa top out in Los Angeles.

After I had my 82 Z made in Sept. 82, I received mailings for that Targa Top and other items. I have the ad, Ill look it up and post it. I also have the one from the company that made the pace car and Export headlight covers.

On a side note, between the Camaro, the '57 Chevy, and the Power Wagon, I was a fan of Simon and Simon. It's really no surprise that with all the automotive eye candy we had in the '80s that I'm such a car nut!

And a couple they forgot... The other night I was up late and while flipping channels came across Roadhouse. Don't know about you guys, but I always liked that Mercedes. 500 wasn't it? And every hot girl I went to school with would get, well, never mind, when one was around, lol! And how about the Fall Guy pickup? A couple weeks ago there was one of those square body 4 wheel drive short beds for sale in town, gone in less than a week! Surely there's more?

IIRC, KITT was the first third gen on screen and don't forget the '83 Blk/gold in Smokey Bandit 3 lol
Seems like Universal Studios had a "Thing" for Black/Gold Cars lol

I still want a Fallguy truck bad. I imagine the Simon and Simon Camaro had some major body flex going on.

Neat to read the article and I hope it's correct. But I also liked the comment under the DeLorean "And in the era of 700 hp plus production cars, everything old is slow in comparison to what you can walk into a showroom and buy, so who really cares if the DeLorean won’t get out of its own way?"
That kinda sums up how I feel about my '83 LG4 powered TA. I've used this same logic to avoid spending a lot of money trying to turn it into something it's not, and doesn't really need to be. For me, the fact that it's a good looking neat old car is good enough...
