Re: TPI rubber intake boot clean original gm
This is going to sound fun, but... I'm pretty sure the 90-92 Firebird bellows is different from the 85-89 Camaro part. What I know for sure is I have an oval to round TPI bellows floating around in my junk pile that is not the same as a late Firebird. Easy way to spot that it's different are the ridges that correspond with the reliefs in the clamp. FWIW

I know what you mean, the catalog shows #14094720 for both 86-89 TPI Camaro, and 90-92 Firebird. I just peeled back the cover on my Iroc to visually verify that it is the same as the boot on my 91 Formula, and I'd say that yes they are the same. But now here's where I get a bit lost... I've got this TPI boot, and it doesn't match.
For illustration, the blacker boot on the left is off my Formula, the brownish boot is the oddball that came to be in my junk pile, some time in the last 20 years or so...
Notice the raised tabs that position the clamps are in different spots, and that the mold seam lines are on the sides vs top/bottom?
And for the real mind blower...
Yep, the oddball boot is marked "14094720".
I don't know what to think. Maybe it's a rolling change to the part? I can't find a number on my Formula's boot. I don't mean to throw off your thread, just wouldn't want someone to get the wrong part. I suppose if a person has the clamps that match the boot it shouldn't matter. I know that the clamps changed a few times and the clamps by part number in the GM computer are just generics anyway... Rambling on...

I am pretty positive that it is the same part for MAF TPI Camaros and speed density Firebird TPI cars. Maybe the brown one you have is really old and shrank? And knowing GM, it is definitely possible that they changed the design appearance of these over the years due to having to possibly change a supplier at some point. It's pretty hard to find these nowadays in clean condition, and people usually charge more than $40 shipped on eBay when you do see a nice one of these pop up.

Re: TPI rubber intake boot clean original gm
I'm not sure where the brownish one came from, it could be that 14094720 is a service replacement part. It's definitely a different part from a different mold, not shrunken or aged at all. The brown would clean up... It might have come from an SLP cold air setup, or from a storage unit packed full of thirdgen parts I acquired way back. Maybe someone will recognize it. At any rate, looks like both MAF Camaro and SD Firebirds used the same part, so disregard my earlier interruption.
