I may have some pics somwhere, its currently gutted, and it is a shame i really liked the look of the grey ones. Im on eibac pros, i like the hight but would live the adjustability and performance gains from a coil over or wieght jack

Hi, this thread motivated me to do research on Corvette rims about 4 months ago.
I finally went with the black C6 Z06 Replica rims as seen on Ebay. I was upgrading the brakes to the 2015 C7 Corvette Base Brakes too. Just before this, I had upgraded my '86 IROC with a 4th Gen axle...
About a week ago I finished this phase of the project and it has 18x10.5" C6 Z06 replica rims in the rear with 295 35ZR 18's, and 18x9.5" C6 Z06 replica rims in the front with 275 35ZR 18's. 1" spacers for the front. I'd posted most of my pics in the Brake Section, but decided to revisit here to add to the fine mix!
My next plans are to add 1" front and rear lowering springs, adjustable KYB shocks front and rear. Relocation brackets for rear LCA's and adjustable torque arm.

You cleared up front with just a 1 inch spacer? Mine are 18x10.5 with 295's. And 18x9.5 with 275's.. same set up but i used 2 1/4 or 1/8" spacers.. just 4th gen rear in back...

For S&G's I actually tried a 18x10.5" rim with 295 35ZR 18 up front with the 1" spacer and it fit nice, but the clearance from rim to strut was millimeters. Right now there's almost 1". I'm more comfortable with that!

Nice.. what spindles did you use? Im gonna need some better brakes, i was thinking willwood. But i hate having a spacer, and no way can i afford the 500$+ race craft stuff

I used the modified spindles that BBU sends with their various brake upgrade kits, in my case the C7 package. When you ship your original spindles back to them, you get $100 back.
I went from the original style rotor to the upgrade, then I had to figure out the spacing myself. I finally went with the 1" spacer. Finally I had to cut down the studs flush so the rim could be mounted. HTH

Yeah, I didn't really care for a 2" spacer either, when I was experimenting with 17x10.5" rims with 275 40ZR 17 tires. The 1" spacer I use now is barely acceptable IMO as far as looks are concerned...

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!
Not really anything new. Just another thirdgen with ZR1's... but these craigslist ZR1s were painted white... I think it's a kind of interesting look. Not sure I'd roll around on em around town like this, but they are my autocross wheels.

Those things would look sexy with the darker anthracite gm painted the z06 wheels with.

Are you serious INSANE, Your spacer broke? And dove off a cliff? Did it total your car?
Does anybody else had problems with spacer breaking, So we should not be road course/auto coursing our cars with spacers? Just for looks and cruising?

I finally got to put the Eibach sportlines on. I removed the isolators also. Founders rear LCA's and adjustable pan hard bar. And still going on 3 years since I've been wanting to re-paint the car. LOL!

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!
Just picked up some vette rims and spacers on craigslist for my 87' iroc, but the rears came with 3 inch spacers. Looks great on the car bolted up, but I'm a little concerned that the stock lug bolts may be a little short now with the 3' spacer....anybody run into this problem and change their lug bolts out? which ones? I can't seem to find an easy replacement.....Or am I just being too overly cautious?

3" spacers would need REALLY large offset wheels, and/or would cause the tire/wheel to protrude from the wheel well. My research has shown a 10.5" wide wheel with +56mm offset would use just a 1 3/4" inch spacer/adapter to fit a factory 3rd gen (maybe 2" for stock front brake offset).

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!
Typically "spacers" are 1/2" or less. Anything larger would put too much stress on the studs, or the (original) studs would not be long enough to have enough thread engagement. Therefore 1"+ "spacers" are really "adapters". The adapters bolt on to the hub with their own set of lugnuts, and they also have their own stud for the wheels to bolt to.

Thanks for the response, I also thought that the 3" adaptor was going to be too large, but they actually look perfect on the rear of my '87 as the first responder to this thread (88_thirdgen) reported for his car as well as the last picture on the thread from member "closer". I have the same exact vette rims as both of these members and, once bolted up, I have just enough clearance with the 3" adaptor. I don't think anything smaller for adaptor size would clear the inner wheel well at all or give me enough wiggle room to feel comfortable without rubbing from time to time. My car is completely stock in the rear before putting these rims on also. I really think that I have the right size adaptor for the rear with the 3", but just wondering if anybody else has the same and changed out wheel studs (I'd ask member 88_thirdgen but he's been inactive since 2011...)

18x10.5" 58 offset front and rear, 285/35/18, Black machined face Z06 with 2" spacers. The sidewall of the tires is about 1/4" inside the fender lip front and back.

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!
"71 Gun" The 3" rear adapter will probably work fine for a stock height car. I'm running 2 1/2" on my factory disc brake rear axle. And I did have to massage my inner fenderwell.. I can still not fit my pinky finger between the two. But now that I lowered it, I still had to roll my outer fender lips so the tires would not rub. It's kind of a give and take scenario to have the 19x11's.
Ohh.. I'm running the stock length studs all around on my car also. With my adapter I think I actually have more threads to put my lug nuts on than I did with the factory rear shims and 16" iroc rims.

thats what i was thinking. i was hoping someone here had actually tried them or had them on and could explain what they did.
im getting a good deal on these rims, but i dont want to spend the money and have them not fit.
hopefully i can find someone locally to try them out.....

Re: Got Vette Wheels??...Post pics here...!
My rear has at least 1/2" of back and forth movement which was not an issue with 285/35/18's but became an issue with 285/40/18's and the additional 1" of height requiring me to roll the fenders and bump the inner fenders.
They have more than 1/4" clearance static inner and outer.
I'm hoping that a rod end track bar will help.

Just another set of C4 Corvette ZR1 Replicas. These are 17x9.5 with 275/40R17's all around. Running 2.00" adapters on the rear & 2.25" adapters on the front. The 2" adapters would not clear the ends of the tie rods on the front with the 9.5" wide wheel. They would have worked if the wheel was only 9" wide. The car is riding on Eibach ProKit Springs & a full tubular suspension (UMI & Spohn components).

ZR-1 Replicas from OE Wheels LLC. 18x10.5 Rears and 17x9.5 Fronts. Wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1 Sports, 295/35ZR 18 and 265/40ZR17 respectively. I had to use spacers from Hawks Motorsports. Which are fantastic by the way, 1.5in back and 2in front. The rear tires rubbed significantly on the front lower portion of the inner fender. I had the persuade them with a hammer to make room. I'm still not happy with the clearance just yet. I will probably wind up cutting and reshaping it for more room as I plan on driving this car hard in the future.
