Blasphemy!!
I know what many will say, but I'm going to post this anyway. I came across a ridiculously good deal on a set of 17" wheels.... Mustang wheels.... I know, I know, who would put Ford wheels on a chevy? Well once the center caps are off, they look just like Torque Thrust II's. I mounted them using 1.25" adaptors, and I think with some modified center caps they will look pretty slick. I'm willing to take the ridicule... Bring it on!
I haven't set the car down on them yet as I'm rebuilding my suspension.

Thanks! I like them more than I was expecting. I'm looking forward to seeing them once I figure out the ride height and get it on the ground.

Re: Blasphemy!!
IMHO,the only aspect that is a problem with the "wheel" is the weights on the outside.
Maybe on a old set of steel truck wheels but never on a nice set of aluminum car wheels.
I always tell a tire shop, weights on the inside only or they will be buying me a new set.
But.......
A wet rag and some tire shine please.
Just yank-en your chain bro.

Re: Blasphemy!!
I have absolutely no problem with people using ford things on their GM cars, or GM things on their Ford cars. Use whatever is best. and particularly in this case they look good.
If anyone gives you crap about it, tell them to **** off.

Since when does the Mustang and the Thirdgen F-body have the same wheel bolt-pattern?

Re: Blasphemy!!
I bought a set of 1.25" billet spacers/adaptors from Summit. They were the perfect width to run the ford wheels with the correct bolt pattern. They were about $90 for a pair, so I have a grand total of about $300 into this setup.

Re: Blasphemy!!
Finished up with the suspension redo, so I can finally get a look at these wheels at the new ride hieght. Pardon how dirty the car is. Been sitting on jack stands in the garage for almost a year.

Re: Blasphemy!!
Sorry, just saw this. I'd say for weight they are pretty comparable to the stock 15" wheels. I haven't weighed them to know for sure. And yes they are 8" wide. They have a back spacing of 5.5" so the 1.25" spacers work perfectly. They currently have 235/55/17 tires, but I will likely be switching to 245/45/17.

Re: Blasphemy!!
They look really good and if you don't tell any one there "Ford" most will not know. Just say there Torque Thrust 2 replicas and leave it at that.
That's what they are any way.
Also, I live down the road from a Truck Stop that has gravel roads so I know a thing or two about dust and dirt in the air.
This is an item that I truly believe in.
I use it a lot and don't really know what I would do without it.

Just follow the "before you use it" directions.

Re: Blasphemy!!
I like most people used to have a GM vs Ford vendetta in the old days. But now? With our cars being old and out of production, I just smile and make immediate new friends when I see somebody with a Fox body Mustang of the same vintage as us at a car show.
I've got no problem with those wheels. And actually quite like them. Easy to clean with a nice strong look to them. Good buy.

Re: Blasphemy!!
Looks really good on the Grand Prix! I finally got the car pulled out of the garage for a good peek at the new stance. Eibach Sportline springs, complete Founders Performance rear suspension components, Energy Suspension bushings throughout the front and new KYB shocks and struts. Pretty pleased with the results.

They look good! I had a set of aftermarket ones on my 80 Camaro for a while. I just adapted wheels I bought for my 98 Riviera a few years ago to fit on my 87 IROC.

Ha! I have friends in Goderich. (And I practically lived in Grand Bend as a kid).
The Toronto signage has been replaced with Alberta landscape now.
Did you get your speedo issue figured out? I read your post and just went through this.
