1990 Camaro RS Corner Carver Build
I picked up a 1990 Camaro RS with a 305 and auto trans off of craigslist back in Dec. of 2015. I traded the previous owner an ATV that I had about $800 into. Despite the car having 162k on the clock it ran and drove nicely, so I felt I did pretty good on the deal.
The motivation for purchasing this car was because I will be participating in another open road rally this summer. I did one in 2014 running from Austin, TX to Chicago in my 2006 Duramax.
This year's rally will be starting in my own hometown of Billings, MT and will end 5 days later in Portland, OR. For the first day the organizers (Rally North America) rented the local drag strip for half a day and on the final day in Portland we get to run on the paved road course at PIR.
I have already torn out the suspension on the car, which is good, because I have to have the car finished by July 10th.
And ordered a lot of parts.
My current parts list includes:
UMI adjustable track bar
UMI rear lower control arms
PowerStop upgraded front rotors/calipers/pads
New rear drums/shoes/cylinders
3.23 gears to replace the 2.73
Ground Control springs and weight jacks
17x8 American Torque Thrust wheels
KYB GR2 shocks and struts
Pro-Forged complete steering kit
New bushings and ball joints for the front a-arms
New sway bar links
Spark plugs/cap/rotor
Complete car weatherstrip kit
Parts to come before July:
245/45-17 Summer performance tires
In-car communication equipment
Radar/laser detector
New windshield
Exhaust
Part of every rally that Rally North America puts on is to try to raise as much money as possible for a certain charitable organization. Every team is challenged to raise money, which in turn determines the starting grid for each day as well as other perks. If you have a few extra $$$$ (even if its just a $1) please consider donating to our benefiting charity here=> http://events.campsunshine.org/site/...eam&fr_id=1250
Until just recently my team was holding onto 3rd place, but recently were bumped to 4th. With every donation of $20 or more I will add your name to the car as part of the decal package during the rally, and please feel free to give me pointers on my build thread as this is where I've gotten the majority of my information on the build.
Third gen member sheikss has already been kind enough to donate, and will get his name on the car during the rally.

I need to make a trip to Colorado for sure, (most of my family lives in eastern Colorado) but this season I'm going to kill some cones and make a run at a local SCCA title.
