Anyone have trouble with Hawks clutch master?

So I ordered the adjustable clutch master from Hawks for $320. After about an hour of trying to get it in I found its off center from the original clutch master hole by about 1/4" inboard and the AN fitting on the front hits the fender well.

Anyone else use one of these ?

Attached below is a picture of a 3rd gen build we are doing here. You have to zoom in but you can see the 90 degree elbow and line clear fine with no issues. Also the 2nd picture is of Storm Trooper which is a 40k mile car that uses the same master cylinder we sent you. This master has been installed for over 3 years and it has been through multiple shifts and speed shifts as well with no issues.

OK between the pics and being on the phone with Steven from Hawks, I think I've got a better grasp on this .... I'll dive into it again.

It is a straight shot from the pedal to the hole. If something is out of alignment then it is the hole on your car, not the straight rod of the master cylinder. It is really fun trying to get the first screw started without somebody helping you from the other side so be extremely careful to not cross-thread the screw in the aluminum housing.

The housing is very close to the fender. Sometimes people have to put a dent in the fender with a hammer. The Tilton is sold under various brand names. Mine didn't come from Hawks but it is the same thing.

I ended up rotating the white cap to the 1:00 position to gain better orientation to the incoming hose from the clutch fluid reservoir.

Re: Anyone have trouble with Hawks clutch master?

Just an update ... I got it all in and finally drove the car. This clutch master is great. Pedal feel and the adjustability are way better than the stock mess. It does take a little more patience than I had on the first attempt but the results are worth it. Make sure you clock the cap on the master correctly the first time.
