Introduction
Hello. Brand new to TGO and glad to be here. I just bought an 88 what I believe to be Formula with a 350 tpi and auto. I am missing the SPID sticker as well
as the console lid. Here's a few pics and maybe you can tell. Either way Ii
plan to restore it. It is quite fast and absolutely zero
Leaks smoke and feels tight. It's a blast to drive! Anyway wanted to
say hi and the thanks in advance for all your future help

Re: Introduction
Most of the ear marks of a Formula are there, aside from the aero-wing. Given that the aero-wings are commonly in bad shape, it's not hard to imagine it having been changed.
The VIN will tell you if it's a Firebird or Trans Am. If it's a Firebird with a 8 for the 8th digit (350 TPI) it's a Formula since that's the only Firebird available with the 350.

Thanks Drew. Yes the 8th digit is 8. I bought it from a fellow AA member whose sone had ur for the last 25 years. All service records two original owners manuals and an ADS superchip along with the original GM spare ignition key were in the rear compartment. It's been well taken care of. Just needs a little help cosmetically

Re: Introduction
Ya if your VIN has 1G2FS and 8 as the engine code, Then its 100% a Formula 350 car
