My mother passed away a couple of years ago and left me an '82 Trans AM that is virtually a new car. YES...it only has 16K miles and was cared for by an 84 year old great grandma. She was truly a car person, and a big fan of the Knight Rider TV program. How she purchased the car, in New Mexico, is another whole story.
I pulled it out of her garage (6/15/2016) washed it, changed the fluids, and drove off. I've been told not to touch the few things it now needs. New hood shocks, radio antenna, and headliner. This is a normally aspirated engine and I do have the bowling ball hub caps.
I'm a car guy, just not a Firebird fancier. I think a new car has to worth $12K. I would also be interested in any interesting trades. Projects are OK.
Yup, if it had TTOPs, you would already have my money. Sucks, but i think 8-9k is fair for a non ttop 82. Everyone that wants these cars wants t-tops unfortunately
I think the ask on that is MORE than fair for such a time machine. Crazy low miles- it's just going to gain value. I think the 3rd gen cars with low miles are going to see a major uptake in prices soon.
I paid around round the same for my 7k mile 82 this past year with ttops and wheels that have never been driven on. It being a hard top kills the resale value of the above car a lot. Anyone buying these cars are looking for ttop

Tried contacting the seller but he won't budge on the price. Hate to break it to him but it will not sell at this price. Hard tops just don't sell. I would love to have it just to drive because I have other 82s that I'm not driving to keep the miles off. The highest price low mile 82 hard top that has sold on eBay went for $6,200 and had 32k miles on it. This is a $8k car night and day. If he would sell around that I would buy.

Good points Chris, But if he were to reinstall the bowling hubcaps, remove the rear louvers and take it to a Mecham or Barret Jackson. Then he MIGHT get what he wants out if it or who knows more $$$ ???
Anyways the car is on ebay now, we'll see what happens
VIN # shows it's a base LG4 so that hurts value also
True- the right venue would probably get good money for it. People that go to the collector auctions get all gooey over low mile cars, whether they are truly collectible or not.
