SO this thread is for when one finds an F-body in the junkyard. Pics or a good description is best and of course location. I spend a lot of my time scouring salvage yard inventories around the country but my home base is Central Texas so I will start here hopefully adding to other regions as I find cars.
Hope this helps people find those rare parts. I am not currently pulling parts, but that could change.
Located at Austin Wrech-A-Part in Austin, Tx. currently:
1990 V6 RS
1983 305 4bbl

I think this is a great idea!
I'm looking forward to seeing what turns up.
I'm looking for an AC high side hard line off of a serpentine belt V8 car.
I'll keep my eyes open. Austin Wrench-A-Part just crushed a 1992 Firebird with a V8, I grabbed the serp belt brackets for my Sierra but all the A/C parts had been there.
The Houston-Wallisville LKQ also has a 1991 Camaro but no pics and no info.
You would not BELIEVE the cars I see junked on these sites, makes you sick.

I don't think I have ever found an air cleaner assembly on a junkyard car. I don't know if the employees take them off or what. Perhaps it is the first thing people take, but I've looked at plenty of F-bodies and never seen any. Heck, I hardly ever find the carburetors either!
The complete air cleaner was there when I took these pics but laying on the ground, I put it in the trunk and my friend Texas Mike Massey bought it as a wall hanger over the weekend when he grabbed a few other things for his 1982 Z.
Very, Very cool thread. I will be start looking at junk yards and posting pics. If anyone finds one with a T-5 intact, I am looking for a VSS for my 91.

That's a small bit, I will keep my eyes open as a few have come through with 5 speeds. Do you happen to know what years will work?
Austin LKQ on Congress. Some lunkhead junked this 1989 Formula 350 t-top for a bad fuel pump. I nabbed the intake hoses with MAF for $5 (they love me at this yard), when I got there someone had grabbed the TPI intake but it was still a mostly complete WS6 car and fairly well equipped. It had a perfect dash pad, 5 band EQ cassette, co2 canister, 140MPH cluster and gray t-top shades - I got all that and the nice WS6 center caps, sorry.. There were 2 sets of tops in it, a cracked Lexan set and the glass set, extra taillight, fairly nice t-top headliner,
Are those 16 or 15 inch rims? Always liked those style factory wheels.
16" WS6 wheels, they were in awesome shape too minus the center caps (a member with a 1988 Formula 350 called me and asked me to get them while I was there).
Checked out an 85 Z-28 (v8, auto, grey interior) at Pick and Pay Auto in Beggs, Oklahoma, south of Tulsa, today. Hood, rear end, TPI intake, and dash pad are already gone. Windshield is cracked and the left door is bent. The rest of the body is pretty straight, the rear spoiler and most of the ground effects are there and intact. Nose is decent. The car has only been there since 03/25/2018... Should be available for a while...
Dang I wish I could just find a factory spare tire for one I saw one on one pic.
I know Virginia (Washington DC area) is a long way from Mississippi.
I have a factory spare that has been taking up space in my shed for long enough.
From 1988 Sport Coupe.
I'd say "very good" condition. Not mint, or even excellent.
Looks like nobody ever drove on it. I don't think I want to put it back in my car. My car is headed kind of in the Frankenstein direction, so any notions of "correct" components has fallen by the wayside.
Shipping something of this sort is way too much hassle, and probably too expensive, even if I had a perfect box with everything labeled and ready to go.
I would let it go cheap if you can pick it up, or if you can get somebody you know in my area to pick it up for you.
Im heading to Tampa Fla. area tomorrow to buy a Cadillac.
Checked all the LKO pic a part yards in Tampa, Largo, Orlando
and Largo for 3rd gens.
Only Largo had a plane jane 85 sport coupe 305 tpi, stick.
It looks pretty complete except for the left front fender.
found this at Dallas west Pick and pull 2 days after was set I got alot off it including complete steering column and wheel for 45$!
other parts collected: hear hatch motor, front bumper, rear bumper cover, seat, ecm, rt fender rear inner side panel
Will junk yards sell an entire car? Some of these look to be worth saving.
Laws governing sale of salvage vehicles vary among states, and some have different restrictions on if/how such a vehicle can or cannot be restored to roadworthy condition and then be re-registered/sold, somewhat similar to laws concerning reselling flood cars and insurance buy-back vehicles.
