Well like I said, I have one...and am getting another!!! ....I still think they are a little corny. -ALL of them, but you have to laugh at yourself a little. It's all meant in fun, right....the whole hobby? It's like the one universal place we can all agree doesn't HAVE to be all business.
I've been on this site for almost 6 years and never saw this thread before. Enjoyed reading through everyone's comments, etc.
When I first got my '88 Trans Am, I wanted SUM FUN which really meant "summer fun" given that I would not be driving this car during a Wisconsin winter as well as the idea that this car certainly offered "some fun!"
Unfortunately is was taken and I ended up getting UW ENGR as I was a recent engineering grad from UW-Madison. I co-worker always razzed me by saying what is "UW engraving?"
Here is one from a non-3rd Gen photo I took a few years ago in Chicago. The owner of this car was an attorney, which is appropriate! If you can't read it it say SNKCHMR .... Snake Charmer.
I know this is an old thread but it's a good one and I just had to add to it!
Here's my plate on my 1991 drop top Z!
C YA 5L
(See ya five litre) a nice jab at the mustang crowd
Its backed by 586 HP of bored, blown built stroked goodness!
I dont think vanity plates are corny at all. Just another form of self expression, which also is demonstrated in others cars by custom paint or custom builds. In fact some of the plates are quite creative. I have had 2 of them on my Turbo TA. The first one was TTA15I5 and I changed it to MY TTA. When I switched from collector to historical the requirements changed from a 7 digit to 6 so I couldnt use the same one. But the renewal is about around $60 cheaper AND a front plate is no longer required for historical.
All the years I've been here also never saw this thread, lol! Thought I had a pic of mine but apparently not. It sits in the top of my toolbox...ZYA 5-0 And I know it's not a third gen but saw this a couple weeks ago out on the road...
Gorgeous car!!! I've always loved and wanted a TTA!!!

Didn't see this thread before, but here's mine. I was trying to match up to my other Camaro which is Cam Z 80, but IROC Z 87 was already taken and so was Cam Z 87.

Love it Dave! Even though I was barely walking when that song came out, I can't hear it enough! My wife says my music taste is crazy.........Guess I've always been an ole soul in a younger body.
Just visited the DMV today: MY V1CE (VICE was already taken)
Everybody's got to have a vice of some sort they spend money on; I rarely drink, don't smoke and the last time I truly gambled was 11 years ago in Vegas. So that really only leaves my Trans Am as my vice.
BLUON BK Because when I get the body & Paint done next year. I'm painting my Z28 Satin Black with a Matte Clear Coat and painted on Tri-Color Blue Stripes
