Glad you like them!
I have a thread on the forum, that went through the entire process of building something like these.
If you have any questions, just ask in that thread. Either I or one of the others who did it should be able to answer.

Awesome car. Mine looks like something out of a wrecking yard compared to yours. It's on jack stands right now getting some serious overhaul done. Turbo 400, Ford 9", some engine work, interior cleaning, etc. Gonna be in the garage a while, but as soon as I'm done I'd like to see yours in person. I'm not too far from you. Federal Way. Is that original paint? If not, where did you get it done?
Not original paint, had it done about 5 years ago at this place out in Roy but it's no longer there now.

Redid the plastidip on the wheels, using a graphite color this time. Really like how it turned out.
New plastidip, using black as the base and graphite metalizer to finish

Re: My 1984 Camaro
wheels look really good, keep up the work, and was your car originally a carb or always injected? If it was a carb, how difficult was the swap with the V8, and what all did you have to do to your harness and all to get the V8 to function properly?

Re: My 1984 Camaro
We basically bought a 92Z28 and just swapped everything over. computer, wiring, dash everything. Actually wasn't all that difficult to do.

Oh okay, on a scale of 1-10 how difficult would you say it was, and also how much time did the whole swap take?

Re: My 1984 Camaro
You'll also need to change the motor mounts out, and also the front springs.
I would say that the entire job would be a 6-7 out of 10.
If you want to keep your old wiring and dash etc. that will make it tougher since harnesses change pin locations over the years, so you'll need to take that into account and move pins around to match what your car already has.

Nice work on build man. You should be damn proud! (not that ur not)
I love the color. What color red is that? This spring I will be finally, hopefully getting mine back together and shot with final top coat. Red also. It was painted all apart, but for some reason all the reds dont match.. Some are RED while others have a orange hue to the red which I really like and am going to go with. Anyways, your threat got me pumped. Been a long time sense ive driven my car.

Re: My 1984 Camaro
Thanks!
I really appreciate it.
The paint is called Victory Red, apparently there are 2 shades with this name. Mine is the one with more blue in it. Which makes it a deeper red (less orange).
It's really red, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

The car looks great, you did a great job.
I see you have the 88 Sport Coupe wing/I have the same on my 88.
I was thinking about going with the 91-92 High Rise wing or the three piece spoiler,
but I think I am going to keep the Low Rise wing on my 88.

Now that I don't need to have a front license plate. Need to work on repairing that piece that the front license plate bracket mounted too. I have 3 screw holes to patch and then repaint it.
Will be doing that next.

Started her up the other day.
She's been bundled up in the garage for the past couple months.
The LED tail lights I made are still going strong.

Re: 1984 Camaro complete restoration and more!
Hi Everyone,
I don't think I ever create a thread on here about my car.
I've owned this 84 Camaro since around 92 or so, it's was a basic V6 pretty much no option car.
I drove this car to work every day for quite a few years, and the V6 finally gave out. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the car, and it sat in my garage for about a year. I finally decided that I was going to restore, it and make it better than it was to start with. I bought a 92Z and used that as my donor car. I then proceeded to swap almost everything over to my car, pulled the motor/tranny, added the GFX, replaced the dash etc.
It took about 5 years to get the car where it is today, but I think it turned out pretty good.
How she looked originally:
Some pics during the restoration:
Right after removing the V6
All of the 92 wiring in place
After the Paint!
I love LEDs, and these tail lights were for sure getting a retro
Same with the dash, here is the 92 Cluster lit up with LED strips
I hated the dim stock headlights, so I installed HID projectors. You can also see my LED front turn signals, I custom made these.

Re: My 1984 Camaro
Thought I would share the latest update to the audio system of the car.
The Kenwood deck I had, served me well but when I upgraded my phone it really didn't seem to work with it very well. So it was time for a new deck.
I wanted one with Android Auto, and also a Capacitive touchscreen. Doing some research, was finding decks with these features were on the more expensive side. Since this is a car I drive about 5 times a year, wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on a deck.
So new plan, I looked into carputers while doing my research I stumbled across the OpenAuto project.
This is a Raspberry PI running the OpenAuto software that brings Android Auto to your vehicle.
I already had a Raspberry PI that I wasn't using, so I purchased the software, a 7 inch touchscreen a USB Soundcard. And got to work.
The first thing I needed to do, was verify that a 7 inch screen was going to fit in the factory location. It will with a little modification, the mounting tabs will need to be cut off.
Next, time to modify the bezel again to allow for the larger screen.
Doing some testing before installing
and after a lot of test fitting, it was finally in the car

After a year long search, I finally found some 5th gen seats that I liked.
What an upgrade from the 4th Gen seats I had.
The passenger side is full power too!
Very comfortable seats.

Re: My 1984 Camaro
Had these parts sitting in the garage for over a year, finally got them installed.
New Koni front shocks and Founders Camber caster plates. I can't believe the difference in ride quality compared to the old worn out shocks. I really does feel like a new car.
Plus the red plates fit with the theme of the car.

Re: My 1984 Camaro
Been trying to actually drive the car more this year, and the surrounding towns have been having cruises.
So been at each. Had some issues with the car the first couple times (fuel injectors were going bad). But now those are fixed, and the last cruise went on without a hitch.
What I love about these, is there is always someone taking photos and putting them in the group pages. Fun finding your car there.

Re: My 1984 Camaro
Been checking off some boxes on the car.
A/C seems to be working again, I thought the compressor went out. But turned out to be the high pressure switch was bad. So we'll see if it continues to work!
Next I finally got around to having the windows tinted, looks so much better. Here are a few pictures of how it looks now.
https://www.caraudiocentral.net/buil...hp?buildid=276
Also there was a cruise in the city last weekend, so many cars there. I'm also starting to see more 3rd gens now too, which is great! I got some video from the cruise, it was a great time. Looking forward to the next one.

Re: My 1984 Camaro
Would appreciate everyone's help with a project I'm working on.
Remember back in the day the website CarDomain? It was the site where you could create a page dedicated to your car or truck, share pics and tell us about project you're working on. Everyone also remember when it was taken down, and all that car history was lost?
Pepperidge Farm remembers!!
I got so fed up with losing all my car data on these sites, that I decided to just built out a Car Social site myself.
Ask:
We all love our 3rd gens and do so much with them, I would really appreciate if everyone would add their cars to the site. Every new car page, helps the site grow and hopefully as it grows it will start to rank higher in Google.
It's really easy, here are the steps.
1. Please create an account on the site.
2. Create a car page for your car and upload some photos. Bonus, if you're working on any projects add a build log to your page and tell users about what you're working on.
3. Report any bugs you find.
Here is my Camaro page that you can use as an example of how the site works.
I have a ton of features I want to add, but the site needs to grow first before I can start on those.
Here is the link to the site. Hope you all join.
