FYI I believe the official name for Pontiac was Silver Blue Metallic in the brochures and literature, but the Chevrolet called it Maui Blue in the brochures... It may have changed year to year tho in name only. I would have to make sure tho, I am 1000 miles from my literature right now.
Winter projects anyone??? I'm getting ready to ship my steering wheel out to get refurbished! Can't wait!!! The leather is all cracked and nasty looking...
its cold in Chicago as well, and my winter projects include brakes and 1.6 RR and valve springs, but the daily took a dump. Water pump needs replacing, so that happens first.
So you all may remember that I sent my steering wheel out last month to Chuck Pelton in Michigan to be refurbished. I finally had a chance to get it installed and took the car for a drive last week! Fresh leather felt so good!!!
Here are the after images once I got it installed. It turned out very very good!
Looks great Travis. Have a list of things to do to the camaro, hopefully starting next weekend. Still have to put in the disc rear end that has the ctsv brakes. I decided to put in a 4.10 in it after I painted it and changed the grease. So I guess I get to pull it apart again. One of the axle seals started leaking so those and the pinion seal will get changed as well.
Have a couple cracks on the underside of the hood that need repaired before the transfer to the top . I have some better seat belts to put in too and change a speaker wire while I am messing with the inside.
I also ordered the sequential tail lights that should be here this coming week. I will post pics up when I get started.

Have the lights in and the hood repaired. Will post some a video of them when the rain goes away. Still have to change the gear in the rear end and get it in. I decided this is the perfect time to do some weight jacks since the rear is gonna be out anyways so I ordered those. The stance has been bugging me for quite some time now and this is cheaper than coil overs and wasn't sure if I would run into issues with the bigger wheel/tire combo up front. I seem to always forget to do the in process pics so I will try to do that as well. Should have on my lights. You guys know how it is when you get new part and want to get them on haha.
Well I haven't got started on the rear end yet but I decided I better order some subframe connectors and a wonderbar from TDS. My weight jacks should be here friday. Hopefully I can get the new ring and pinion in the rear this weekend.
I did get the rear end in the car with the ctsv brakes on it. The wonderbar is in and I am starting on bolting in the sfc's. Thinking I may have them welded up before I install the front weight jacks. Ordered some kyb agx struts til I can afford some koni's.
I drove it for about 30 mins after the rear was installed and I am very pleased with the way it drove with the new gear, shocks and weight jacks.
I got the wonderbar and sfc's bolted in. Wasn't real happy with a couple of the holes but the will do the job until I get them welded in. Was a bit of a pain in the but doing it without a lift. I wish I had done these when I first got the car. Ever since I put on the bigger wheels and tires it was bad about following the "invisible" ruts in the road, to the point I was getting upset. That problem is now solved. I am so happy with the way the car is driving right now. If the front weight jacks and struts do half as good as the rest, I will be in hog heaven.
Went to a car show this weekend. The car drove great. I have had a bit of tire rub since I put the bigger wheels and tires on and it's sitting just a tad lower in the back with the weight jacks and new shocks. So I decided I better order an adjustable pan hard. Getting some inside rub on one side and fender lip on the other. I also decided to get some new casters for the struts since I will be bringing it down in the front a bit. Still not sure how much. Went with Founders since they price was right and they have good reviews. If my dad decides his lca relocaters aren't needed, I will nab those from him possibly. Here is a pic with the rear brakes on finally. Front still looks goofy so high.
To be honest I couldn't tell you exactly. It was already painted when I bought it.. It has some sort of pearl on it that changes colour depending on what angle you look and how the sun hits it. blue, purple , green etc.
