Wanted to share some exciting news from this past weekend. Took my 89 Turbo Trans Am to the MCACN event. I entered it into the day 1 Concours and did very well. TTA was awarded with gold scoring almost perfect with a 998! Also was awarded the Emerald award!! Show season is now over and time for a winter slumber.

For those who don't know and who haven't been there - MCACN is the Pebble Beach of Muscle cars - to win there is the absolute pinnacle of muscle car shows! I was told by Charley they carried $100 mil in coverage for the event and as he walked through there on Friday afternoon on the eve of the show he was worried it wasn't enough!

Congratulations Bill, well earned!
Thank you. Show was spectacular! Look forward to attending in the future. Really amazing the quality and value that was in that building!!
Dude, that's awesome! ...I could never leave my car alone, but I'm glad there are those of us who do! Stockers, streeters, racers, showers.......it's takes everyone to make our hobby what it is. Awesome car!
1 point was deducted for minor wear on the cover of the coolant tank and the other point was for a scuff on the turbo cover.
I had a nut & bolt rotisserie restored car there for the inaugural show. They do deduct for very small things, but they really have too. I was deducted for an anomaly in a seat pleat in the original covers, & a few other points for various things. All really small, small things, but thats why I believe its a 1000 point show. It allows them to distinguish between 100's of top of the class cars. I love the fact that car shows like mcacn put you against 1000 points & not against other nearly perfect cars. Great way to do it.
when all they can find is a small scuff or upholstery ripple thats something to be proud of imo.
Wow! Congratulations on the invite. Very prestigious. Have read a lot about this show, including several posts from a fellow on another forum who attended. Seems like a spectacular event.
It was a great time at MCACN this past weekend. Was great to meet so many TGO members that came out as well as hearing all the comments about how cool is was to see an unmolested 3rd gen in the show . . . we were the only 3rd gen Camaro . . . and I believe there was only one 3rd gen Firebird too . .
All our detailing efforts and attention to the details paid off . . acquired 995 points and brought home Gold.

I saw your car Andy and it looked fantastic. Honestly, I'd be afraid to leave my car unattended like that for the weekend without any barriers or protection from the public, though.

Thanks Charlie . . . the wife and I were as nervous as cats in a room full of rocking chairs throughout the show . . . Saturday we were at the car almost full time . . it wasn't until evening where we got brave and ventured away from the car . . Sunday the traffic was lighter but really didn't venture away too often then either.
We thought about stanchions etc . . but sadly the public really has no fear of by passing them, seeing where people wandered was rather shocking . . so not even sure if they would have provided any more protection . . with how small our area was I feel they would have just been in the way. But thankfully he made it through unscathed.

How did you do in the show? I love that show. Really fantastic! I am going to go back in 2019 and do the vintage verification.
