Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
One Major question.
Are these complete assemblies? If not, what is involved in installing these?
Maybe a small tutorial so those who might not know how to do it may see it as easy and jump in on the Group Buy. Thanks again.

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
Each carbon fiber T-Top shell weights around 2.5 - 3lbs
The aluminum "Pin Style" bracket system it's still being perfectioned and has not been weighted yet.
Please remember that for safety reasons all the carbon fiber T-Tops shells will be offered for the sole purpose of non-moving car ornament or show car piece only, not intended for normally driven street cars or race cars.
All carbon fiber T-Tops are hand made and are not "perfect". Some imperfections may appear during the fabrication process like; carbon weave being a bit distorded, not perfect surface with a bit of a wavy look and things like that, specially in ones with NACA ducts as in the pictures below.

Carbon fiber T-Tops are lightweight!!!!!! Only 2.5 to 3 pounds each.

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
Surely we could use the stock latching system if carefully removed from a spare set of tops.

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
I used the mechanism out of the spare T-Tops I lend for the molds, guess what?
They fit almost perfect!!!!
Since I am looking to use them in my road race GTA despite the recomendations of the manufacturer not use them in racing nor street driven (I am well aware of the risks) I made four small holes in the carbon T-Top and bolted an aluminum 1"x1"x1/16" angle bar, there I bolted the spare lacht system and voila!! The only thing that I need to complete the latching system is a pair of guides for the end of each pin.
At first I was considering to epoxy the angle bar, but since my GTA is meant for road racing I want some mechanical fastener also.

Updates!!!
I discarded the latching system and try using the mechanism out of the spare T-Tops I lend for the molds, guess what?

You still think you need to have 10 on you group buy for just the panels?

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
The Group Purchase conditions are not set by me, that call is for the guy that actually makes the carbon fiber T-Tops. My only "job" was to help the guy sell more of these T-Tops.
BTW: I am also going to order from him a carbon fiber shifter center console, carbon fiber T-Top headliner and carbon fiber dash pad.

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
I'll try to take more pics but this week it's a bit complicated for me to work on the GTA.
The Group Purchase conditions are not set by me, that call is for the guy that actually makes the carbon fiber T-Tops. My only "job" was to help the guy sell more of these T-Tops and also try and make some latching system that would be cost effective and viable for the selling of the T-Tops. But since I ended up using a latching system out of a spare of T-Tops I had, I'll no longer will be offering them as part of the deal.
BTW: I am also going to order from him a carbon fiber shifter center console, carbon fiber T-Top headliner and carbon fiber dash pad.

Well take as many pics as you can, when you can. Don't think anyone is gonna jump on board without that.
BTW... I'm interested in a dash pad if a Camaro dash pad

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
I'm interested in a standard set. I pretty see my iroc just has a standard latch.
Are there holes or anything to mount the latches?
Edit: disregard. This is 95% street car and daily driven. Just saw these appear to be show only.

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
Hello again,
please remember that theres no latching system offered or available, the deal is for the carbon fiber T-tops shells only. I used a standard latching system out pf a spare T-tops I had, they work perfectly.
If anyone is interested in a pair of carbon fiber T-tops shells I think is easier just to communicate with the fabricator himself, I'm just trying to help you guys get more aftermarket or performance parts for our cars. Attached are more pictures of my GTA with the carbon fiber T-tops in the last road racing event I attended.

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
I am selling my carbon fiber T-Tops if anyone is interested!!!!!!!
They have been proven in several track events, there are perfect and track proven!!! The only reason for selling is that I am going to go with a one-piece targa top.
Here is the ebay listing:http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/182527800952?

Re: Carbon Fiber T-Tops Group Purchase
No, apparently there will be no group sale. I was originally in charge of this group sale, but since I was no longer going to offer the latching system with the carbon shells it made no sence to have a middle man, so I contacted the fabricator to continue offering by himself the t-top shells. Also no member made an actual and serious approach into making a pre-order.
My T-Tops are the only ones made, they are also for sale.
