A couple weeks ago I purchased a new project. Bought it and had it sent up from South Carolina to Ohio. I had been looking around for a GTA that was original gunmetal grey paint. This one was a reasonable price for the condition but needs a lotttttt of work.
The body of the car is solid and rust free but needs a fender and drivers door. Interior is grey cloth and needs work.
The biggest issues with the car I am going to have is that the computer and engine harness are completely gone. The car has a digital dash so I am going to have some trouble getting the correct harnesses.
I haven't decided how "original/correct" I am going to do the car since it it grey (somewhat rare?) and I am open to comments suggestions about which way to go since it will be a little while before I get started on it. My plans are to begin to collect some parts while I finish my 87 up this year.
Thanks DynoDave43! Progress will be pretty slow, I have to do a lot of reading on the forums on the digi dash and the VATS to decide which direction i am going to go with the car.
doesn't look to bad i've seen cars a lot worse brought back. good luck
Definitely true, theres nearly zero rust so everything else is easy to replace its just tracking the parts but I would rather rebuild a solid roller than start with someone's rust bucket if possible.
