Okay so I know most peolpe really like the 260 cam from delta and that those who used it often had good results. Comp cams offers a 260 grind is this the same cam or should I go straight through delta im trying to find the best cam for this hybrid swap.

The Delta cam is basically the same exact thing and it cost a lot less. I've always ran Delta cams and I always would recommend them first and foremost. The quality is great and the price is always lower
I understand that these engines utilize long runners but would this cam possibly be a good match its a 278/290 with 222/234 @.050 lift and .467/.494 with stock rocker ratio 110° lobe separation basic op range is 2200-6000 rpm

Thats alot durration if you have stock compression stock heads stock converter if auto... im not sure what all you have?
If you have 9.5 comp or higher and a 3k stall. Ported heads...exc that big cam would work but it would be a high reving beast and would be sluggish down low. Trust me. I ran a crower adv. 299/292 cam. Big cam. But big lope no power under 2500 period... lol and i had 12.5:1 comp. Its a drag racing, 3k and up cam only imo.
A 272 cam or 270 is also a good delta cam or equivelent. It raises jp the powerband to about 2500-6500 at least the delta i have. But its flowing good in the 3500-6000 area but i also have gen 3 alum heads that a turbo is blowing though...lol
Here is my 270 delta cam i run. I love it. Just big enough to make power but not too big to cause problems down low. Cam cost about 135 bucks with a fresh lifter set shipped to the door...
Im trying to find a nice cam to go eith my hybrid swap so its gonna have about the same things you have im just running .04 over pistons and the intake isnt ported so its a 270/270 or do I just order what the pistons part number is

I would go with that 270 can basically what I have. The cam card i posted above. I promise you will not be disappointed and if you are doing a hybrid it will work very very well. Just look up Delta Cams phone number and call them tell them you want a 270 regrind cam. You are doing a 3.4 not a 3.1 correct? Feel free to tell them what you have and what you want they are very very smart and knowledgeable and can help you decide on what you want. And trust me it will cost a lot less than buying one from Summit Racing. So you can save your money and spend it elsewhere where it may be needed.
As for the Pistons I just ordered some myself. Make sure you get the compression distance of 1.478 compression distance so that they were ment for the alum. heads. You will have arround 9.5:1 comp ratio which is a good.
I put a link of the Pistons that you would need these are Speed Pro ones you can also buy Keith Black pistons for Diamond forged pistons. But for what you are doing so Speed Pro Pistons will last you a long time. I ran the same one for 3 years and beat the living snot out of them with all the boost and nitrous you can imagine before they finally let loose.
The link below is for a 3.4/3400 hybrid. 92.0 mm std bore.
You can get many different brands of rings. I have always used Hastings moly rings they seem to work very well.
Its a 3.1 I got the pistons already from keith black very pleased with them seem to be of high quality I also went withsome sealed power rings thanks alot man with the results u have been getting I wont second guess you

Cool. Kbs are good as well. Sealed power rings are good. Did you get moly coated ones?
When it comes to hyper pistons speed pro and kbs are both good. Kbs are a bit better. They will last you a long long time exspecially if you are not shouting oit 300hp+
You got the right comp height? So they are 3100 pistons technically not 3.1?
I cant wait to aee tour build come together. I always wanted to build a hybrid 3.x/3x00 one day. Keep it na. Up the comp ratio and see what it could do.
Also porting out your heads will help a bit. Mainly the valve bowls. They are light years better then the gen 1 iron headded stuff but there is still room for improvment.
Did you already get custom length pushrods? I have a spare set ment for a 3.1/3100 with a delta regrind cam so it may be what you need. You would have to measure to be sure but for about 190 shipped and taxed from wot.. well lets say ill make it so you dont have to nearly pay that much. Wot imo charges alot for what they sell but sometimes its the only place we can get our 660 parts.
Mine were always 1.478 so those will have a bit more compression. Since the comp distance is 1.470
If you check the application its for cars in the low 90s. Which heads are you using? Btw 1.45" is a rwd piston comp distance.
What rings did you get because some fwd pistons have 1.2 1.4 4mm ring grooves. That piston link you show has a more standard 1.5 1.5 4.0mm ring grooves. I just wanted to make sure you got the right rings for those pistons.
I got the right rings 1.5 1.5. 4.0 I was having trouble finding rings for a v6 in the other sizes I could only find them for 4 pistons so I got a piston with the 1.5 1.5 4.0 size rings so it having less comp distance raises comp or other way around.... oh yeah I did call delta they knew exactly what I needed they should have the 270 done on Monday cant wait to get that bad boy
It will raise your comp ratio having a smaller comp distance. But not a ton. 9.5 is what you woukd of had with 1.478. Id guess youll be arround 10.5:1. Just be careful when tuning and run 93 octane.
Im glad you are getting a delta 270. Youll like it im sure.
This build is slow going but its getting there I was a little caught off gaurd with the order by phone thing and having to say your card info out loud lmao really excited to finnish this bad boy im getting the chip burner adaptor and aldl cable today also so I can practice tuning b4 I drop that motor in

Yeah it is a little different but very good manufacturer and their customer service is very very good. The chip burning is pretty easy once you get a handle on it it is not very hard at all. One of my close friends and he is also a member on here at aldl cable and some chips and a burn 2 burner that he would sell for a good price you want me to ask him for them or how much he want? Its all moates stuff like what i usr.

You only live 4 hours away we could always meet up somewhere and I can help you with the tuning if you wan. Just figured I would mention that if you run into any major problems that you can't figure out

cool i really appreciate the help im probably going to run into some issues like wiring the DIS and CPS after that the tuning is were my knowledge falls short im definitely gonna need help there... i already purchased the moates stuff just waiting for stuff to show up lol ive been telling people about this build im doing for a while now good to see it finally piecing together

Oh cool
Do you have anything for your crank sensor mounting yet? Or a reluctor wheel?
Wiring is dirt easy. You just need the ignition module off say a 2002 impala or something. Then the cps harness clicks right in. Cps off a 93-95 fbody 3.4l works perfect for most set ups but it helps to know if you got a external crank position sensor kit or something.. And the new Icm compared to your stocker is basically wire for wire just a few colors are a bit off but look at my hybrid bolt guide. It's pretty straight forward.

Cool. Is it the rwd external kit? It it a harmonic balancer with knotches on it?
Yea its a rwd kit.... I meant the black shroud that is on the passenger side of the firewall were the ac connects I want to remove it but dont know how to cover the holes to te interior

Ahh well they make delete kits for the ac part. I removed the whole heater box on mine and used sheet metal to cover it up. I don't need heat.. lol its not my DD my any means.
My heater core tooka a dump twice so I just took it out and all the metal lines for it working on removing the box sometime soon. I dont drive it during the winter so it doesnt need any heat lol the blow off and waste gate have been ordered too will be here some time next week same with the crank sensor and turbo and other stuff

Just cover the heater box area with sheet metal. Or what ever you can find that looks nice.
