OK so you are in SF... I am looking at Lafayette/walnut creek/concord areas. so not AS expensive. gas here is 2.18 today
I hope to get a 1700-2000 sq feet home with garage to store the beast
I know I will have a lower standard of living but its ok. no more winters!!! lol thats great too!
Kinda I live South of SF, near SFO. Walnut Creek area is NICE and SAFE but $$$$$ !!!
Lower standard of living ?? Compared to Ohio, You'll be in FIRST CLASS PARADISE here in California
This beauty has not been well kept Paint is flaky, lot of rust, pics look better than the car actually
Saw it today on a local private parking lot. Must be 87 or 88, has digital dash and all...
Sadly, the owner doesn't want to sell the car. She said she was gonna fix it herself lol
It looks so good but looking at that steering wheel it seems there's moisture inside and that's probably from t tops leaking and if that happened the floors are probably gone ....all that but it still looks amazing in pictures .
Ok so I stopped and took a couple more pics...interior is trashed but not too bad. No cracks in the dash pad, weird radio, all in a all its a pretty solid car.

Good luck on the move

Thanks Dave I mean I will be able to afford less...
Like I've said before... Some people should just not own third gens. He could at least give his first car a bath! Jesus...
There's a 92 drop top somewhere under all that dirt! I saw this out on my UPS route today at a diesel shop. Owner says it's his first car and it's not costing him anything to keep it.[/QUOTE]

True but I give him kudos for keeping it. I wish I had my 86 TA

I meant it was "trashed" meaning trash everywhere. I finally got to talk to the guy the other day. He bought it off the original owner. 90K original miles and all original besides that goofy radio. It was a really highly optioned 87 too!
I don't see a LOT of third gens around Austin but I don't get out often either. Usually I'll see my friend Brendan Nuss's 1987 IROC or Ernie Massey's 1982 Z28.
I do see this one at my wife's dr's office though.

I live about 15min from that JY w/ the berli above, was thinking of taking a trip there today.Theres another LKQ about 2 miles from this one too(Stanton).
You guys want to see some more JY pics? I have some that would probably literally make you sick to see, in terms of nice cars that should not have been junked to a 23,000 mile 1989 IROC convertible on which a tree fell.
Pulled up beside this guy Saturday in Huntsville. 91 GTA, 305 5 speed, original owner. Was talking through the windows at a looooooong stoplight, wife snapped a pic while babbling to him. 1st time out in 6 years! He just got back from a car show. I didn't ask how he did, but the car was very clean.
It is indeed a Berli, 86 model, clear lenses w/ factory N65, G80, GU2 & J65.Still had those intact.I wanted snag the Spare, still had the CO canister mounted.Didnt even look like either was ever used.Car is PE1 option (14x7 whls), but N65 equipped.Cause of the posi, I guess. Its all on the RPO.Kinda is a shame, how many berlis are so equipped?
In the car next to it were a lot of the service records & owners manual/RPO sheet.Took those two, plus the OH console.
On the way out I was so fixated on the Opel.I didn't even notice the Iroc, til I took out my cell.
These are all in Sun Valley LKQ. I am not able to get to these cars for parts, I just scour the salvage yard and auction listings. It would be good to have a thread for finding junkyard cars so members local to them can go save parts. Some of the cars I see junked would make a grown man weep.
Someone put an '86-89 Corvette wheel in this 1989. Doesn't appear to have functioning telescopic though. My Sierra does, I put a 1986 'Vette wheel in it and used Cadillac DeVille parts to make the tele functional.
