I have a Honda S2000 push button start and pigtail I'm looking to install in my 1991 camaro. I have searched and found some discussion on this topic, but I can't find an actual diagram of how to wire this up properly. (Wire locations, Colors, etc.)
Knowing there are a few ways to do this, this is how i would like it to work:
Turn key to activate acc and ignition.
Then push button to start engine
Turn key back to kill engine.
Does anyone have, or could make and post a wiring diagram to accomplish this?
I assume I would also want to run a relay which is fine.
You are replacing part of the ignition switch. In the below diagram, look at the lower right. Your push button would connect between the RED and YELLOW wires at the ignition switch, located on the top of the steering column.

There are 6 wires that come off the back of the harness on the s2000 button. Do you know which 2 would connect to the red and yellow on the steering column?

This helps a lot. I think my last question would be, what color is the ""12 volt output to starter" off the relay, and where is the best place to tap into it? Or do you run a direct lead to the starter?
Yellow. near the ignition switch. No, you want to retain the gear/clutch safety switch.
Starter power follows this path:
Battery
main cable
starter (always hot main post)
fusible link - red wire
ignition switch
yellow wire
gear selector (auto) or clutch safety (manual) switch
purple
starter - small "start" terminal
Your relay will bypass the ignition switch (#5) and connect the red wire to the yellow wire.
Tap in near the ignition switch.
Also, look for a pink, "hot in run and start" wire to power the S2000 button, and hence control the relay.

Is the yellow wire accessible without removing the steering wheel? Like in harness up the column? I see the large air bag yellow wire, and then a group of multicolored wires going up the column.

I tapped into the yellow wire just before it goes up the steering column to try. I can get the relay to click when I push the button, but no start. It's a manual, and yes I'm pushing in the clutch. Wondering if that wire I tapped into isn't the right one?
Yes. You do NOT need to touch the steering wheel.
It WILL be much easier to lower the whole steering column...
remove hush panel
remove dash trim collar under column
remove two large nuts to the left and right of the column
You may want to loosen/remove the 3x 10mm bolts holding the steering column to the firewall.
The key cylinder attaches via a rod to the electrical switch on TOP of the steering column. If you could reach through the speedometer or tach, you would get to the actual electrical ignition switch.
Look for large gauge wires: 2x red, purple, yellow... along with smaller pink, green, blue.

I found the large thick yellow wire and tapped into that one. Walla! I got it to turn over! Issue is now though, it only worked once. It consistently flips the starter solenoid as I can hear that. But only once it fired up. I'm charging the battery now to make sure that isn't an issue, but we made progress! Thanks again for all the help! I'll keep ya posted and post pics after its buttoned up.
