Hey isnt that blue one with the Tuned wheels CarNDrvrs old car? If it is, I think those are 17's. What kinda of tires are you 19/20 inch guys running? 35-30 series sidewalls? |
that's what i'd like to know as the red 91 above you looks alright but it has the right height and tire profile. it still looks like the actual body is sitting to high though. |
Those wheels are 5Zigen Hyper 5ZR's. Typically on the import market. They do make the wheels up to 11" wide I believe. They also come in a 20" version. |

hmmm....i dont like them that much. I dont really even like chrome wheels because so many ppl have crome wheel covers that its been played out....If u see some car going 20 mph, you cant tell if they are chrome rims or chinsy wheel covers... whatever |

pretty positive |
Is the one that kon artist posted and the one that shawn18 posted the same car? Just one after paintjob and gfx change? The door molding is gone and I thought the one at the car show had 18"/19" combo? |
too different cars with similar style wheels. here's an example.. tell me what size rim is on this car? mods i will remove this picture quickly but the picture and question serves a purpose once someone answers it. well i can't get the picture so i'll link it... click here and guess the size rim. no cheating. :) http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPi...cs&o=Z8%20R50S |
im thinking 19 |
20... on a factory acura. look at the picture i'm replacing it with and guess. try to guess this one as well. http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPi...Type%20Concept and this one for the last one.. http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPi...ach%2057%206.3 guess what size they are and tell me what they have in common. |

that was the point we were discussing with the pictures. it really depends on alot of factors. just like a raked 17/18 or now the c6 18/19 combo if you build the wheels to match the car they will look good whether they are 15's or 22's. |
Jeff, your missing one overlooked fact. The Jag and Maybach look great with large rims, because there not sports cars. You think the body height on the red Camaro is too high, look at the Jag and Maybach. I think anything bigger than 18's on a 3rd gen makes the body seem too high off the ground. |
well the only reason 20's would do that is because the tire physically moves the car up 1" over normal height. there are a few tires that will allow stock tire dia. but then your running on a 25 profile which is insane for the street. the point your talking about i have not missed but simply not spoken about. 19" is really the largest you could put on our cars and have a decent sidewall to drive on as well as not physically raise the car 1" with the profile of the tire. reguardless everyone will have their opinions of what looks good, what's borderline and what's over the top. the key is to build the wheel to fit the lines of the car. just as a 20 is too big a 13 is too small. many of these other vehicles with larger rims are built around the body which is why the vette has a un-even size for example. I truly think if you used a 20" with the right tire and at least a 3" lip for depth perception you could make it fit the feel of the car. unfortunately i don't think i'm going to try it as to do so i'd have to run an extremely thin profile and i need to be able to drive the car. |
just curious whats stoppin you from runnin abit smaller profile? streets really bad up there or just worried about bending a rim? |
streets are pretty bad and with a 4" lip it's easy to bend a rim even if you plan out your routes... the other thing that is difficult is i need an 8" rim up front because of the air struts. not alot of room so the 20x8.5 which is typical for 2 piece billet would be a tight fit and look right. if i knew 100% i could get away with it without having the tires lift the car i'd probably try it. but i don't think it will be noticeable enough with the other option anyhow and i'll have a safer profile tire. |

edited for 3 picture rule.. |
with those wheels 19" is the way to go. 20's just look out of place. so what do you have in store for us next jeff? |
just go 19's man..20's would be nice..but you dont wanna have air ride and have it sit at stock hieght thats just gay...besides you get a safer profile like you said..i think 19's would look really good anyways |
those 20's do look sick though.... |
:imo: camaros/firebirds are made for speed not bling bling. to me, 20's on thirdgen looks retarded and makes me want to point and laugh at you, but thats just my :2cents: |
I like the 19's. Aren't 19" tires alot more expensive than 20" ? |
