Stock Fuel Pump ok or bad news for this app.?

Hey, i have gotten everything ready to go on my blown car but my kit didnt' come with a new inline fuel pump because i bought it used. It is a 12lb procharger kit. My question is can i drive this for one night or 2 nights with the stock pump to get in some tuning? i will purchase a new intake pump but don't have the money right now. I have 24lb injectors and a fmu with a DFI system also. Can i use the DFI to adjust the pulse width so i can run less psi so it easier on the pump? Let me know asap. I plan to drive this thing tomorrow afternoon and night if i can do it safely. I don't wanna blow my engine.

The inline pump is supplied in the kits for a reason. ATI and Vortech engineers spend much time and money designing these "kits" to be as powerful, dependeble, and safe for your engine as possible. You've got all that time and money tied up in that car and you want to take a chance on not feeding it enough fuel. Running lean. I'd wait until the car is done, as in ready to run for the mods you made. You can pick up an excellent 255lph Walbro inline for about 150 bucks. It would be worth the wait.

i'd say your fine just program your dfi to widen out the injecter pulse width under boost. yes the kits come with a high pressure pump and a fmu but those things are for people that dont have the technology that you have. with your dfi.anyone who is serious abouit tuning will most always dump the fmu and install larger injecters then custem tune their system from there.that way you remove some variables from the system.

thanks blown ta, that is the anwser i was looking for. I got another question for you, can i get rid of my FMU with only 24lb injectors? i think it would be alot easier to tune without the fmu and having to adjust that also.

you may still want that inline pump, when you widen up that pulsewidth the stock one may not cut the mustard. also get onto a chassis dyno or invest in some exh. monitoring stuff like a A/F ratio and pyrometer so if you do go lean you will know it by other than new head gaskets being needed.

I have a/f ratio gauge and fuel pressure and boost and what not. I will look into a inline pump anyway. Do u know if i need to still use the fmu tho? thanks
P.s. there used to be a dyno about 30miles from me and it closed so i have no idea where the nearest one is

I am a firm believer in FMU's to atleast help the process. and until you are the DFI ECM tuner champ you want to and will be it may be a good idea. make sure you have the right BAR MAP for the job if your system is so equiped I know that is how it was done on the ACCEL DFI.
