how about these turbos?

hi again,,
I am thinking about a twin turbo setup on my l69 305.
now,,,i have a friend who has 2 turbos from an 89 probe gt.
I dont know what kind of turbos they are,,,but he says i can have them if they will work for me. since they r free,,and i already have a set of welc your own headers i think i would have the most expensive piece of the setup done.. Will the turbos work good for my 305? Anyone know what size they are,or how much boost 2 of them would make?
I also have another ? if i may,,,turbos like low compression engines right? i have a set of vortec heads i planned on milling down for my l69,but could i just bolt them on without milling to lower my stock comp.? My stock heads are 58 cc's and the vortec are 72 i think(i may be wrong here),,any ideas what the cr would be like this(9 or 9.5-1 now)?sorry for the long post but I really want to do a tt project on my car..Thanks for tolerating me..

Dont really have any idea about the turbos. Your stock compression is somewhere around 9.3 to one, with 58cc heads like you said. IF the vortecs are 72cc, you will see a big compression drop, which would be good for a boosted engine. You should really find out what cc's the vortecs are first... There are mathematical equasions to calculate what your comp. would be, but I have no idea what they are!

vortec heads are 64cc. That would probably lower your compression about a point.

the probe turbo's are TINY IHI units, can barely feed the engine in the probe. Not even worth considering. They are a good size for turbocharging a motorcycle though.

Hmmm, may have to find a turbo from a probe for my go-kart with a motorcycle engine project(go ahead and laugh, but it will be done safely and not halfassed). what years should I look for? The engine is a 250cc suzuki off a dirtbike.

You may want to look into an IHI RHB3 for the gocart (perfect for .5-a little over 1L engines). The IHI on the probes is one of the smaller RHB5's. You can get a larger RHB5 (natural upgrade for a probe from an '87 and up Turbocoupe or SVO mustang).

Another possible source for a really small turbo is a turbo swift, I'm pretty sure it's an IHI, but I'm not sure if it's a 3 or 5, probably the 3 since it had a 1L engine.

I'm hoping the go cart will run a quicker 0-60 than my car, if i have the ***** to go that fast on pavement 3 inches from the ground. It will definitely have wheelie bars, and a cage, possibly a chute(go cart brakes suck)

I may post something if I ever get this thing built.
