How much to retard timing with 150 shot?
I'm currently running a 100 shot at full timing with no problems(I believe its at 10 degrees, whatever sticker under the hood states). Its an NX wet kit. I wanted to know how many dgrees I should retard the timing to run a 150 shot?

I have heard the same thing: 2deg, per 50Hp. You should be retarded 4 deg. already. I would retard it a minimum of 4 degrees, but you would be better off closer to 6 deg.
Once you get to 150 Hp or more, you are pushing your luck with the stock fuel pump. I would use a fuel pressure safety switch. It turns off the NO2 if fuel pressure drops too low. I prefer to play it safe. Better to spend $40 now, than to have to rebuild my motor. Good luck.

With the NX kit I was told I could run the 100 shot with no retard. I already have an extra fuel pump, 2 stages colder plugs and an upgraded ignition.

I also was told that 2* for every 50hp shot. So 4* retard now and 6* retard when u run the 150 shot. And I also would go with a fuel pressure saftey switch, like he said, 40 bucks now or a whole new engine later. Its good insurance.

NX doesn't require you to retard the timing at all... I had a long discussion with John Stewart (the founder/owner/ceo of NX) about this.. But, i've heard 1degree for every 50hp on the "other kits" (nos, n.works, zex, etc.)

I also had a pretty lenghty conversation with John Stewart and he assured me that no timing retard was needed with the NX kits. I'm spraying 150 Shot and I took out 2 degrees just for peice of mind and have had no problems.

I run the stock timing on my TPI 6 degree on a 150 shot. 2 step colder plugs. I do run race fuel when I plan on racing alot just to be safe. I am going to put the 175hp in and see what happens.
