Hood clearance with tall intakes for those who've been asking w/in
I had the opportunity to test a hood on my camaro yesterday. The hood I tested was a Harwood 2" lift off like the ones sold in Jegs for $207 (i think??).
It looks like this on a car:
My intake looks like this:
The hood cleared by an inch over the top of the throttle body.
We pushed down on the hood and dented it in and it still wasnt touching the intake. So I have plenty of room for the 2"lift off.

Don and I were discussing that earlier. I think he has a taller intake and maybe it has something to do with the rake of the camaro hood compared to the firebird hood.

exactly
the firebird nose slants down harder causing a bigger cowl to fit
also his tall intake should be about 1" taller than yours curt so that should make sense he needs at least a 4.5" cowl or better
if i rememeber the picture right when he measured the space between the top of the TB and elbow to the bottom of the cowl he had like 1.5" so that would make sense
good find and research
