Re: To the point

While sbe can do this it just makes more sense to me to build it up with good parts so it will last and you can enjoy it. 500 at the wheels is different than 500 flywheel.

And 500 whp all motor aint happening with either 350 or 383

Re: To the point

You didn't quote anyone so I am not sure who you were referring to, but, who said 500 horsepower to the wheels was happening all motor? I said why not just build a 350 and run a shot of Nitrous to reach his goals as opposed to the blower if he is bent on the engine making 300 horsepower or more naturally aspirated. It would defeat the purpose of dropping thousands of dollars on a blower set to make only 5 to 8 pounds of boost. He should be targeting 250 to 275 horsepower with good vacuum at idle, then run upwards of 15-psi of boost pressure. He's be a lot happier overall if it is a street car.

Especially when he is only targeting 500 horsepower.

I was about to say the same thing, back the freaking train up. I'm not talking about wheel horsepower.

500whp would be what, like 630 flywheel horsepower? I mean, it's possible the round track guys do it, but it's not something you would ever want to drive on the street. Or without earplugs. Below 7500 rpm.

Its easy to do with a lsx of over 400 cubes. And a stick shift. My buddy's 416 stroker makes 530 whp all motor on pump gas thru t56 trans and a 9". Stock ls3 head and intake. Lol. Pretty incredible actually. Driven all the time. Its not to loud thru the corsa muffler but it races with the 4" cutout open and its loud then lol. It drives well. Its made 10 hr round trip to track in maryland where it ran 20 passes at a rental and ran into the 10's. With some weight reduction its been 10.45 this last month.

A sbc could do it but needs 406-434 cubes with a big 200's cc head lol. Another member here years back had a single plane efi 406 with custom ported 210 afr casting. Made 512 whp thru t56 lol solid roller pump gas. Stout

Automatic would be difficult
