oil return turbo

Is it possible to run the oil return to the fuel pump block off plate?
Thought I saw someone do it but couldn't find any answer searching.
Thanks

Why not? Isn't that basically where the lifter valley drains in the front of the block?

Re: oil return turbo

Theres two smaller holes in the block off port the oil has to return thru. It can back up slightly as its not as much gravity feed as the pan, depending on where and how high turbo is mounted. It can work fine dont get me wrong. I just prefer pan. Alot of oil gets trapped up in the top end on a wot pull. I want to get as much of that back to pan as quickly as possible

Good points.

When I used to run vortech blowers we returned to the pan on the driver side. I tried a few different methods, tapping the pan and rtv, bulkhead connections. Always leaked. I never tried welding a fitting to the pan cuz I was afraid the pan would warp too much and leak at the rail.

Do you do the oiling mods to your blocks when you machine them?

i run twin turbos to the fuel pump area , if the block is apart and u look in there u will see the lower drain hole u can enlarge the hole with a drill bit and it helps alot.

if the engine is already assembled i wouldnt suggest trying to drill it out

Re: oil return turbo

Just a heads up that not all blocks have the fuel pump holes drilled. Be sure to check this first.
