Carb'd 305 turbo?

Has anyone done a turbo job with one of these ebay turbo's, such as this one?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-SBC-28...-/160870089799

I'm not looking to build a 600 horsepower blown SBC, but is it possible to install one of these along with the proper injectors and achieve around 350 RWHP/Similiar torque?

The 305 I have started it's life as a LO3 TBI, now it's got an intake swap from an LG4 (I think.. don't quote me) and a 4 barrel edlebrock sitting on top.

What would have to be changed to add this setup, could you run low PSI on stock pistons and still have a manageable daily driver with decent power?

Quite a few people have used this kit, look it up on youtube , I think the Hp numbers you are looking for should be able to obtain. one thing you will need is a blow threw carb for turbos. Now that system does has its down fall, The turbos are not the best but should last a few years, The intercooler is a bit small for the application. This system is not really third gen friendly as in it fitting with out modification. The header and turbo on the passenger side is a real tight fit with the power steering pump and any other accessory like A/C or alternator, and brackets for them.

Re: Carb'd 305 turbo?

Thanks for the reply mate. I did see someone on youtube did a backyard turbo job on a roller 305 and made well over 400 rwhp, I can't remember the exact number.. but that's more than I need haha that's why I considered this setup. I just found 1,200$ too good to be true, you know? Like if it was this cheap why isn't everyone doing it? I understand the smaller 305 bore limits valve size but with forced induction **** goes down haha. Even in todays standards 400+ HP to the wheels is insane.

Valve size isn't as important as the cleanup needed behind the valve itself. The stock 1.84" valve is more than enough, but you can also fit a 1.94" valve in there if you need more, but you don't. Engines with two less cylinders, and smaller valves, have made over 700-RWHP, as when it comes to boost it is an entirely different ball game...

You may want to check out the thread in this section called pics of a turbo, and see what he did to his set up.
