Advise neede with Paxton SN92
Hey I might of came across a good deal on a SN92 for 250 bucks. It does not have the duct work. And has been sitting on a shelf for 10 years since it came off a car that the guy upgraded to a sn2000. I assume sitting for 10 years means it will need a rebuild but i guess that why its so cheap...
Was wondering if someone with more experience then me could give me some advise as to supporting mods that will be required and tuning.. ect

Looks like someone was passing around the owner's manual.
If I recall correctly the big thing about the paxton's were the fact they had a redline that could be reached if you ran anything that wanted 6k rpms.

just thought of another thing. my motor is from an 87 camaro so the alternater is in the right side and the motor uses v belts. can i still use a driver side serp belt sn92 with my engine? it is running a speed density 7730 ecm. how hard is it to change to a serp belt? does it matter the alternator is on the opposite side from normal 91s. also no ac does that effect anything?

You could swap in a complete serpentine setup. It would be a complete swap I doubt you could run v belts and serpentine together.
It would take a different water pump as the serpentine ones should run counter clockwise.
Big thing would be getting all the proper accessories, pullies, and brackets. Alternators changed mounting styles for the depending on the year.
They make an AC Delete pulley to bolt in place of the AC Compressor that's what I'm running. Basically just needs to be there because the belt tensioner is right there next to it.

That's the best and in fact the easiest way to do it. I did that on my truck after I at first id it the hard way on my 87 camaro. I pieced together my own flat belt system (not serpentine, there are 2 belts so they don't drive all accessories) and it's a major PITA to get that done.

There are a couple serpentine setups for sale on the classifieds, that would be the easiest way to do it.
Also, check out superchargerhelp.com...there's a good bit of info on the older SN's, Paradise Wheel & CUNDUN Racing still provide a good amount of parts for these. If it's been sitting that long, it'll need a rebuild b/c the ***** inside develop flat spots from not being rotated.
As mentioned above, you're limited in RPM's but with stock TPI you're fine. Even with rebuild and extras, you should be able to piece together a nice little system for a decent price.

If you put a oil cooler on the paxton will last a lot longer overheating is what kills them, the paxton Vr-4 can still run with the big dogs.

Re: Advise neede with Paxton SN92
yeah just the head unit, but i think im gonna pass i really need to find one that would work with a v belt. my car is a 91 runs on a SD 91 ecm but the engine is from an 87 iroc so the alternator is on the opposite side, the water pump is different, and it is using v belts.... so i just really need to find pone to work with the v belt system, otherwise i see a bunch of headaches
