Re: TQ Storm Superchargers
Looks interesting. Assume its based on an XB-1a design, but self contained.
If it will work with my bracket (angle) I'd like to test one against my BD-11a (w-billet impeller).
Assuming it has the XB-1a's 3.45:1 step up ratio and if it can live at 50,000+ rpm it may have some potential.
I'll try and get in touch with them to see if we can work something out.

I saw an ad a while back.
I was thinking of an aftermarket billet curved impeller for my P1SC.

Re: TQ Storm Superchargers
Email from them. Antoine,
We do have a small block Chevy kit, but we don’t know if it will fit in the 88 Camaro.
The kit comes with brackets, spacers, bolts, crank pulley, belt, and head unit. This kit is not specific to a certain car or truck. The cost of the kit is $2950.00. We do sell tubes, silicone elbows, and clamps etc. Just not in this kit because there are so many variations.
If you would like to buy just a head unit they are $2000.00 for satin and black anodized. $2500.00 for a polished head unit.
You would also need to buy this thru one of our dealers. I attached a list of dealers.
Thank you for your interest in TorqStorm Superchargers.

Re: TQ Storm Superchargers
I bought a brand new procharger d1sc head unit for 2800$ shipped. Polished with pulley.
Prochargers are proven units. Prolly make more sense to buy something quality like procharger. Never even heard of tq storm?

Re: TQ Storm Superchargers
Anyway, it doesn't take a rocker science to couple a turbo compressor to a transmission, so frankly I'm surprised more companies haven't started making superchargers. Their is a ton of chinese turbos on ebay, aftermarket impellers of every shape and size, curve/blade angle, etc.

they do but they arent designed for the larger engines, theres a few chinese ones being sold but are only good for 350-400 hp, give it another year and i bet we wil see much larger chinese versions

Thats a good deal for a used kit. Still though, i got no problem paying for new.
usually a 50/50 on used parts. Ive never used chinese turbos. I stick to turbonetics.
After i had one fail. Tnetics warrantied it no hassle. Made me customer for life.

Re: TQ Storm Superchargers
Now, as far as dominates, that's plain horse poop. There is really only two things of concern here:
1) Airflow vs power to turn the blower
2) Heat at given airflow/boost points
Procharger, especially the straight cut impellers have some of the worst numbers in both.
I bought a procharger because it was available and cheap. I've had other brands in the past, on many engine combos, so I've got reasonable data to back up what I'm saying, and test data is available on the net for peer review.
What might be a reasonable claim is, people with prochargers have gone faster. Not because they have a procharger, but a better overall race car.
