Noboostnogo's turbo build v2.175
I'm redoing the headers and going with megasquirt II v3.0. Turbo will be my current one tc78 but I might upgrade exhaust cover to a 1.15 ar from my .96.
Headers are up and forward mild steel that I will get jet hot coated and getting my pops to tig weld them. More than likely turbo will be in front of water pump blowing into a water to air intercooler under the driver side battery tray. Depending on packaging issues i might go with dual 2.5" downpipes unless I can fit a single 3.5".
Trans is a built th350 with brake and PTC converter
Power goals are to put down about 700 at the back wheels

Re: Noboostnogo's turbo build v2.175
i would have tried 59$ on my current iroc but the po took bolt cutters and cut the harnes sin half by the fender when they put the carb on it, and the price ppl want for engine harnesses for these cars is insane, so it was cheaper for me to go megasquirt
not to mention i had already bought low-z injectors which wouldnt work with the stock ecm anywys

Re: Noboostnogo's turbo build v2.175
Sorry for the hijack.. Last question..
would I need to repin my harness for a ms setup? (7730 tpi harness)
I guess I should goto the ms site and read up. Its been awhile since Ive been into tuning. Im deff. going to have to dive back into it with the new combo.

Re: Noboostnogo's turbo build v2.175
I have the TBI adapter board, grab the manuals swap the pins around for what you need and yank the rest out. This is the way to go in a lot of ways, I really like it instead of having to deal with a DB37 connector. The only thing I will say is I'd probably do a "harness stub" if I had no intentions of ever going to a stock box again. By keeping the connectors it keeps my options way open.

I need to build a new bumper and some supports for the intercooler.
I am hoping to have this thing idling by this weekend since i ordered the fuel pressure regulator which was the last thing i needed for the efi conversion.
--I still have a bunch of stuff to do like build a ice tank which i will try to fit in the opposite side of the spare wheel compartment
--get hotside coated (any advice here?)
--wire in transbrake
--finish downpipe (waiting on parts to arrive)
--put everything back together like headlights and wiring, dashboard center console
--build new bumper support
-- and i need to brace my turbo not sure how im gonna do that yet
so what do you guys think? any feedback?

Re: Noboostnogo's turbo build v2.175
must be nice to be close to firing up your project.Im getting close to the 8th year mark with my turbo project and still have 3-4 months to go. Post up video when you fire it up. I do like how your exhaust headers are setup makes it easy to access the sparkplugs.

Yeah when I built the headers I had spark plug accessibility in mind and these make it easy to get to but only from the bottom
