Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
I was thinking of a 31x24x4 FMIC, but look at my car on the lift all the bracing and such that would have to be removed I'm thinking maybe the bottom-feeding ATI way is the correct route.. ??

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
Ok, I picked up a 27x12x3 core (31" with the tanks).
Not sure how I feel.
I don't have AC. Should I just put it where the AC rad was and modify the support a little bit, or try to bottom feed it?

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
I would definitely put it where the AC rad was, modify the support, but then fabricate a shroud/scoop that goes over it grabbing the air from the bottom, replicating the kind you would find on the Buick GNX intercoolers, but making yours larger to fit your application...

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
Ok well after a little (hah) cutting this is where the IC is going. It actually fits well. Held 1" away from the radiator. I'll have to use my metal brake to bend up some brackets and then some sort of air dam.

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
Might want to move the idler arm up a tad so the center link is level with the chassis..

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
Well now that we have power back, and have picked up most of the fallen trees...
Looks like best is to 90* up the center of the battery tray. I hate to have to put the battery in the trunk err hatch but, I think it would be easiest.
Your thoughts?
I know ATI uses a bunch of 60* and 45* bends to snake inside the fenders but I a lot of that is probably because if the manual said take a 4" hole saw to the car people wouldn't buy it

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
That's what I did, modified the entire kit because the pipes do not fit the later firebird fenders, if any bird at all. Must be made for camaros since the front quarters on those are physically different.
Here's some pics in non chronological order of me modifying them, maybe they will give an idea on how to run all this.

Can you reclock the blower to give a better discharge angle? Either way I would get rid of those hose clamps and go t bolt clamp. If you run any real boost you will need to install some braces across each of the hoses.

Re: What size is the procharger intercooler?
Finally got around to working on this.
I welded to brackets to hold the IC in place. The IC rests on the radiator support bottom, but obviously I wanted it "bolted in" so it won't move around.
I made a bracket for the top which is welded to the top of the radiator support, so it holds the IC away from the radiator and keeps it from bouncing around.
I got the hot side pipes done. I was going to put the BOV on the hot side but I couldn't really fit it in without welding a flange on a bent pipe, so I'll just toss it on the cold side.
I might even be able to fit the battery sideways next to the IC pipe.
warning these pix are not small:

Another thing.
I'm thinking of using 1982-1984 bumpers since they have the vents in them. I believe the vents conceal the fog lamps, but I was thinking of cutting the impact bar up to increase air flow to the IC/radiator.
What do you guys think?
I really wish I could find an aftermarket front bumper with an FMIC cutout that didn't look like it was featured in the fast and the furious.

[QUOTE=Street Lethal;5443701]You could always get a donor bumper, cut it out w/the proper painted mesh inserts...
Any pix showing it from the front?

I'll see what I can find Joe, that was Steve Kaminski's old whip, it ran 10.65 @ 128 MPH with a 1.44 60 FT back in 1992 (no alky), and IAT's remained essentially low with every run...
