s trim cogs or 8 rib
i have a v-1 s trim and a 5 rib setup. it utilizes a second stock gm crank pulley. i need to go to a 8 rib or cogs. Has anyone done this?
Part numbers? pics? anything. vortech cant help. I am willing to pay whatever to get either cogs or a 8 rib gm crank pulley.
See my sig. made 650/650 but kept losing blower belt at 5,300 rpm. would have made more.... for now i have to run a large blower pulley to keep blower belt on.
thanks!

you should be able to get the 8 rib to work. the s trim kit for an LT1 comes with an 8 rib. you can even run a maxed ysi with an 8 rib if you put idlers in certain spots to increase pulley wrap. need to also run a kurgan crank to blower tension arm to take stress off the crank snout if you are running a real tight belt.

Re: s trim cogs or 8 rib
thanks for the reply. I dont tighten it to the point where the bracket flexs so i dont damage the blower. even when i tightened it on the dyno, it still didnt stay on. the belt was jumping around since it so narrow. all that was happening was the bracket was bending and still flying off. I want to go to a 8-rib and i'll research the info you gave me. thank

Try Auto Specialties Performance in Stafford TX. 281-261-8845. Back in 04 I got a 7.5 in. 8 rib crank pulley insert as its called for my Vortech s-trim. Old info, maybe they are still open.
